Ed from Twinfinite writes: Destiny was and isn’t for everyone, but if you were the ones that stuck around long after launch, through season pass expansions and The Taken King, you likely have a soft spot for Bungie’s MMO-FPS hybrid. And, if you were like me, you were looking forward to the April Update as a potential reason to jump back in. On its own, the new content is not bad, but looking at the bigger picture, it doesn’t move the needle at all for fans, or for the franchise.
Even worse, it's part of a bigger problem that has existed since Destiny opened up its micro-transaction store.
Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.
That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it
For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.
In Episode 1 of Spot On, a new weekly news show, Gamespot talks about the dangers of chasing a trend.
Playing Destiny 1 on PC has been something fans have been requesting for years. It looks like Destiny 1 is now playable on PC via the RPCS3 emulator.
I think Bungie might have just gotten in over their heads. Right now they are trying to make Destiny 2 the best game possible, but at the same time find themselves having to maintain the previous game with new content well over a year after it released. Unless a developer has a huge team the the MMO experience needed to do that balancing act, its impossible for something not to slip.
Up, this update isnt enough... Not even close. They should have launch another DLC like the taken King, but they are doing Destiny 2...
Don't worry everyone! We can look forward to another incomplete game with Destiny 2 for $60 and another expansion pass that won't cover all of the expansions! Yay.
I got burnt out months ago, pregnant about 5 or 6. Revisiting destiny now it's pretty great, however, I do feel bad for everyone that really tried to stick it out straight through. I've pushed several hundred hits into the game so I definitely rly got my money's worth.
its NEVER enough..
but people still play it lol
waste of time
