After giving DotEmu’s reboot of Ys Chronicles 1 a solid four stars, I was eager to dive into the next adventure. Ys Chronicles 2 follows the continued exploits of Adol Christin, the lawful good hero who obliterates monsters and demons to save the day. While this Android RPG has everything I liked about the previous one, it also has the exact same flaws.
Throw yourself into your enemies as this classic action RPG comes to iPhone and Android.
Wow, I absolutely love Ys, so if the controls are good, this would be a guaranteed buy from me. I can't imagine playing a game that requires you ever-so-precisely run into enemies but only at a specific angle to be anything less than frustrating once getting to the last dungeon, though, lol.
Still though, cool to see the developer/publisher branching out.
One of my all time favorite games going all the way back to Ys: Book I & II for TurboGrafx-CD (one of the first CD rom games ever made, and GOTY). Back when Sega and Nintendo were having crap midi music, this game came with a full musical score which blew everyone away who played it.
Falcom and their in-house Sound Team JDK have produced without question some of the best music in video game history.
Get ready, Ys fans, because Ys Chronicles II is coming to your mobile and tablet devices in the near future.
