The Division Beta Xbox One VS PS4 video Graphics Comparison

The Division BETA has been officially released and thanks to that we can finally see how the game looks on both consoles.
It's not hard to see that both versions of the game does not specifically differ from each other, and the only difference seems to be subtle color intensity. Could it be an argument in the war about less powerful Xbox?

This is one of the biggest differences I've seen in a miltplat game. Damn.

Why o why3430d ago

why couldn't they keep the same design on the jacket

Like honestly, how much resources are needed for that

OC_MurphysLaw3430d ago

@Why o why... Obviously we don't know but given I have seen other jackets that are far more elaborate then the starting jacket I wonder if its a part of a final design choice that made it into the PS4 build in time for the beta but didn't for the Xbox one build. Beyond that notion I couldn't really fathom a guess as I like you don't believe the jacket choice would have any kine of impact given everything else is the same.

Aither3430d ago

It is not just the jacket, but the beard, hair, and lighting effects are so much better on the PS4 that it is blatantly obvious. Pause the video at 1:34 and you will see what I mean.

TheCommentator3430d ago

Aither, I agree that the guys' beard, hair, and jacket are all better in the ps4 version. It's weird though, because everything else is identical in both versions, so the question is why just the details on one guy and not on everything else?

Docknoss3430d ago

Been playing this since the Game went live on XBOX ONE. Its easily one of the best games I've played this generation.

The Xbox One is truly a powerhouse. The Division looks just as good on Xbox One as it does on PS4 IMO. March can't come any sooner.

Burrito26a3430d ago

Watch the video again with your right eye open.

the_dark_one3430d ago (Edited 3430d ago )

well you know what they say.... its easier to put a small piece in a big space than put a big piece on a small space

with that said, its easier to bring the ps4 version down to the level of xbox one then the other way around

Dark_Crow3430d ago

It's also easy to leave the ps4 at its level and then just bring it down for the Xbox.

Your logic is not as sound as you think.

magiciandude3430d ago

I did watch the video in 1080p and I see nothing better on PS4 side.

Scatpants3430d ago

You're not very observant, but I guess you're going to see what you want to see.

3430d ago
ExtoVert3430d ago

I dont like to get involved in this power/graphic debate, but if you stop a 1:13, in the video you can see the difference in the face, hair and beard.

OC_MurphysLaw3430d ago

Pretty sure that is a personal choice on the players end... in doing random faces and trying to get something to "match" since the beta doesn't let you actually customize your face.

DashArrivals3430d ago

It's really because they went for parity on console in my opinion, but it doesn't really matter because the game does look really great.

CaptainObvious8783430d ago

Ummm, that's because Ubisoft went for parity, not because the xbone is a powerhouse.

But I guess according to you that makes the PS4 a super computer.

Wallstreet373430d ago (Edited 3430d ago )

@magiciandude (yeah im going to be that guy)

Why did you put "imo"? It is a fact they both look and play alike.

Powerhouse? Lol now thats a joke, neither are powerhouses but the fact still remains PS4 is more powerful in a few respects and in no circumstances should the PS4 version look and play exactly the same and not be better, unless of course forced parity. With all that said PS4 still performs better although very miniscule difference and not worth pointing out.

This isnt the first game to be created equally on both platforms (although very few) and this isnt the first time fans use an example like this to say "oh u see Xbox is just as powerful" lol to then get a slew of other multiplats after that didnt perform up to par. Depends on the devs and some or a few for the sake of parity or whatever reason wont use PS4 to its full potential and will develop the game equally to a lower denominator, these are things that happen all the time. Of course youll get fans that come later on with the mister media bologny and blindness and say " you see xbox is catching up, you see the cloud, you see dx12 lol but its none of that. They did that couple of other games that were greated equally a year ago (Destiny was another that was equal).

Either way it looks good and hope everyone enjoys. I will be trying the beta in a few minutes.

Dark_Crow3430d ago

I'm sorry no. They don't develop for lowest denominator. They develop for the easier one in this case the ps4 which is slightly more powerful and then bring it down to the Xbox.

Or maybe they develop on both equally.

The PlayStation if it was as powerful as you say then would not need a cap at 30 fps. They could unlock it and have it go up no? That's what I thought.

Wallstreet373430d ago

As powerful as i say? What world do you live in where factual hardware specifications dont anount to truth or facts? This isnt up for debate, that information has long been known to the public and cinfirmed as fact. PS4 is a more powerful console. You sound ridiculous lol.

And if you read what i wrote and took off your fanboy goggles i said "they are both not powerhouses" then went into the argument given ps4s higher specifications the ps4 version should not look "and" perform almost equally. Now if the ps4 version performed the same but had more or better graphical effects than i understand. Or if ps4 version performed better but graphically looked the same that too but forvthe game to be almost identical with ps4s extra horsepower, yeah thats forced parity. And by the way whos to say the ps4 couldnt be more than 30 uncapped. We arent ubisoft to know but facts are ps4 is stronger and it should have at least more effects, better textures, assets or whatever to show they developed to its strength. Devs often times do develop to lowest denominator, that is a fact as well. Plenty of articles and info on that.

magiciandude3430d ago (Edited 3430d ago )

Hahaha wow you getting upset over me thinking my console is just as good as yours. Nothing short of pathetic. This game shows that my console is indeed as good as the PS4 like it or not! Though I do think the Xbox One side has slightly better color than the PS4 after watching the video again. I'll have to retract my statement I made earlier. :D

magiciandude3430d ago

Since I said Xbox One is a powerhouse, you can easily take it that the PS4 is a powerhouse also. I didn't say the Xbox One is more powerful than the PS4.

butchertroll3430d ago

Did you read DF article where it say that Xbone has screen tearing and frame dips? No? Good! Did you watched the video where Xbone has dips to 27fps? No? Good! Did you noticed on DF shots that Xbone version has slightly blurrier image? Like this one :

http://i.imgur.com/obHwjix....

No? Good!

NovaCorps3430d ago

and what about the rest of the multiplat games...thats what i thought...nada

you have a game after 3 years that looks kinda the same with the ps4 version and thats make you happy ?

dam you xbox fanboys must be desperate

magiciandude3430d ago (Edited 3430d ago )

After what Digital Foundry did to Fallout 4 on Xbox One, all their credibility went down the drain. And 27FPS? I've played games on both systems that dropped to lower than 15 and have screen tearing etc. I am not interested in Digital Foundry's material, and the game doesn't look any better on PS4 than it does on Xbox One IMO. In fact after watching the video again, it seems to look slightly better on Xbox One in some areas. I hope you'll enjoy the game as much as I will.

DashArrivals3430d ago

Yep, totally agree. Well said. But let them have their fun. I'm glad going for console parity is kind of rare with major games.

Automatic793430d ago (Edited 3430d ago )

@WallStreet

The magician may have exaggerated a bit but he is not off in stating "The Division looks just as good on Xbox One as it does on PS4 IMO"

Your Comment

Powerhouse? Lol now thats a joke, neither are powerhouses but the fact still remains PS4 is more powerful in a few respects and in no circumstances should the PS4 version look and play exactly the same and not be better, unless of course forced parity

Your hypocrisy is apparent and the sheer ignorance of your statement shows it.

"This isnt the first game to be created equally on both platforms (although very few) and this isnt the first time fans use an example like this to say "oh u see Xbox is just as powerful" lol to then get a slew of other multiplats after that didnt perform up to par. Depends on the devs and some or a few for the sake of parity or whatever reason wont use PS4 to its full potential and will develop the game equally to a lower denominator, these are things that happen all the time"

Why do you feel the need to having a pissing contest. You should be praising the good work that Ubisoft has done with the parity and instead your knocking the magicians statement and continue to push your own bias agenda.

Bottom line the game looks fantastic on both and any system you purchase the Division on will be a great play through. I am tired of seeing ignorant comments from guys like you as if you speak for the companies or are getting a paycheck. Enjoy the system on the platform you play with your friends.

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

shinoff2183805d ago

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot805d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno805d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic805d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman805d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon804d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
