The Division Beta PS4 vs. Xbox One Direct-Feed Screenshot Comparison Shows No Major Difference

The Division Beta is now available on all the major platforms after getting an early release on the Xbox One. The game is visually solid and has a dynamic time of day, volumetric lighting and global illumination on the PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version of The Division takes it even further with improved draw distance, anti-aliasing and the inclusion of HBAO+.

Both running at 1080p and appear to run at the same graphic settings too.. though I would recommend turning sharpness up to 70 as that gives a nice, crisper image

YinYangGaming3434d ago

Yes indeed but I must admit I saw a noticeable improvement on my tv at least so thought I'd share it

GameNameFame3433d ago

@Genuine-User

DF released some analysis, that seems to be the case.

They also mention that game seemed to be developed around weaker console. Makes sense the marketing deal they have with MS. They make both console equal in their last game too. Dev admitted to it and sparked uproar.

Genuine-User3434d ago (Edited 3434d ago )

I expect the PS4 version to hold a locked frame-rate with vsync enabled.

Genuine-User3434d ago (Edited 3434d ago )

To those that disagree, considering how well the Xbox One version performs - what I expect is a given.

DF will confirm this very soon.

DLConspiracy3434d ago (Edited 3434d ago )

I don't think anyone truly disagrees it's just people fighting over something as minute as a couple of frames might be found kind of silly. At least in the bigger picture.

Genuine-User3434d ago (Edited 3434d ago )

@DLConspiracy

Are you insinuating that I'm fighting over graphics/performance analysis?

@The_infected

That's pure nonsense mate. I couldn't care anyless for the elite controller.

DS4 is my preferred controller but I won't use that as an excuse if I can find a better version on the Xbox One.

Let's not speak for others without actual statistics :)

DLConspiracy3434d ago

@Genuine

No, but it still has the same outcome in the comments.

Genuine-User3433d ago

@DLConsipracy

It shouldn't have the same outcome. Do people lack reading comprehension?

I stated my expectations. That's all.

CyrusLemont3434d ago

I guess the most obvious answer here is that the PS4 version isn't running as good as it can be if it looks like the Xbox One version.

kraenk123433d ago

Not sure why you are getting disagrees..considering the faster RAM and additional render power it should be a given...yet Ubisoft games often seem to struggle strangely.

XanderZane3433d ago

I'm pretty sure DF will find something bad to say about the XB1 version compared to the PS4 version. Such a biased site. I think the only game they said was better on XB1 was Outlast, but they still found something negative to say about the XB1 version in any case. Whatever the case, this game appears to be running good on both consoles this time around. Still haven't played the Beta though, but I might still check it out. Might actually get this on PC in the end. Gotta see where my friends are going to be playing it first. They have all 3 platforms like myself.

Neonridr3434d ago

yep, Beta went live for PS4 today. Xbox One users got a 24 head start over PC and PS4 users.

DaGR8JIBRALTAR3434d ago

Played both betas, no difference whatsoever.

AngelicIceDiamond3434d ago

People are disagreeing like they wanna see a difference. Then brag about it and we'll never hear the end of it. More importantly these screens are terrible I know its a direct feed but still they're not worth looking at let alone comparing.

frostypants3434d ago (Edited 3434d ago )

Can you use the same beta key on multiple platforms (i.e. is it just tied to your email), or did you need separate keys?

thisismyaccount3434d ago

Compare the second images, you see some difference.

1> the XB1 has a bald hero, less polygons to render ... .... . . . .. . . .. .
2> the PS4 uses higher setting shaders (see the snow, foliage, the bush on the left side, post effects?)
3> last image, suggests that its more a 900p vs 1080p (check the mini radar between both images, the warning text looks a bit more crips on teh PS4, if both were at 1080p the gui would be at the same spot on screen (the 4 right is smaller on the PS4 indicating a higher res, same goes for the quest text right side of the radar ... its not the same angle,

Kribwalker3434d ago

@this

He has a bald head because you can customize your character and I'm sure he made him bald

zidane13413434d ago

@thisismyaccount: um no. It's already been confirmed the Xbox one is 1080p. And the rest of your observations are not true.

PR_FROM_OHIO3434d ago

Is the Beta open to everyone??

Neonridr3434d ago

you need a key. You either got a key by preordering the game, or signing up for a waitlist at the Ubisoft site.

Although preordering the game seemed to be the best way to do it. Not sure if you can still get a key for preordering.

Caedus5113434d ago

I got a key emailed to me from Microsoft without preordering or signing up for anything at all. Just saying there are other options. Check you junk mail tied to your XBL ID to see if you might have gotten one too!

Jmanzare3434d ago

no you need to pre order the game

Lon3wolf3434d ago

No you don't I got a Beta Xbox key and still not pre-ordered.

3434d ago
camel_toad3434d ago

Purchased my key for about 2 bucks on g2a.com to help me decide if I wanted to pre-order. After about 2hrs of playing it today I think I'm gonna gonna pre-order it, from cdkeys for $30'ish bucks. I love deals ;)

frostypants3434d ago

Beta keys were free and open to everyone with nothing more than your email address as of yesterday, but it appears that they've closed it again.

DaMist3434d ago

I preordered plus got invited through Nvidia and still not beta key, what gives? this is major B.S

Whitey2k3434d ago

We just wait for DF to do this test prolly be some bits better at certain parts on each other or they just ignored each strength and just gone for total parity

Dabigkahuna763434d ago

Or you really gonna wait for df

OC_MurphysLaw3434d ago

I would suggest if a reveal from DF is going to uncover something like: "some bits better at certain parts on each" then they virtually are the same and anyone "scanning" for those differences needs more to do as clearly they have too much time on their hands. The eye test should be enough for games imo. If they look and run basically the same on glance does it really matter in the end?

UnwanteDreamz3434d ago (Edited 3434d ago )

Yeah who cares if sections of the game drop to 15fps as long as they look the same at a glance.

Edit:

I'm not saying it does but that is the reason some people wait for a real analysis.

lastking953434d ago

If your own eye's can't see a difference what's the point then? Even if DF finds more trash in an alley or one drops 2 frames, if you never noticed that yourself is it really a big deal?

KwietStorm_BLM3434d ago

Trash in an alley is irrelevant. Missing elements more frequently is a difference. Dropping 2 frames isn't very noticeable. Dropping frames frequently enough affects gameplay. You can't see these things in screenshots, and if someone has to make a decision which platform to buy it for, then this all becomes important. If all you're doing it for is to brag about your platform like a child, then that's something else entirely.

trywizardo3434d ago

i guess they don't wanna send me the code :3 , whatevs im playing world of tanks ^_^

Stop Forcing Multiplayer Into Single Player Games

TIM WHITE WRITES: "Multiplayer or single player? Developers, you can do both, just not willy-nilly."

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

shinoff2183808d ago

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot808d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno808d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic808d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman808d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon807d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
