VC Reviews: Splatterhouse 2

If you can look past the presentation issues, Splatterhouse 2 is still an enjoyable game and a worthy sequel. What you really should be looking forward to is Splatterhouse 3 however - This ditched the sidescroller formula and instead is an actual beat 'em up! It was not released in Europe, but due to the Import category on the Virtual Console VC Reviews think this won't be an issue.

IGN: Splatterhouse 2 Review

So steer clear of Splatterhouse 2 on the Virtual Console, as it offers nothing more than what you could find in the original Splatterhouse (which is also on sale, and two dollars cheaper). But though this particular installment didn't do anything new for the series, you shouldn't write off the franchise entirely. The third game, Splatterhouse 3, completely altered the design direction of the series and will be much more worth your consideration if and when it arrives on VC. And the series is set to see a major reboot next year, through the next-gen Splatterhouse remake currently in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Stay tuned and save your cash to put towards one of those superior efforts.

I've been playing the Mega Drive Sonic games on my PC for years through emulators. I have no need to buy a Wii for it's virtual console. Although the original Sonic is a good addition to it's library.

You could simply play them on your 360.

Naw, I'll stick to my emulators. Of course, you could play them on XBL if they're available.
