Agreed. Especially looking forward to Sony's conference!

IMO you only have to look at Sony's E3 and TGS to gauge the level of potential Paris and PSX could have this year.

At E3 Sony brought 3 entirely new AAA IPs, Horizon, Dreams and RIGS, along with bringing The Last Guardian back out of the shadows.
At TGS there was Gravity Rush 2, Ni-Oh (a game that was basically vaporware for years), Yakuza 6 and King of Fighters 14.

We already know that Media Molecule will be doing a big showing for Dreams, but there's also the likelihood that Guerrilla will have new information and footage for RIGS and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Sony London hasn't released a major AAA game since The Getaway in 2004 on PS2, yet they're still the second biggest studio Sony has.
IMO they could very well show off a bunch of new PS4 games, likely some VR stuff too, though I think Sony will do what they did with RIGS and just show a small amount of footage on stage.
Maybe we've already kinda seen London's VR game and it's actually going to be connected to The Getaway.

The Getaway and Eight Days on PS3 were never canceled, only placed on hold in a similar fashion to The Last Guardian, so maybe both are PS4 games now and they were moved over to PS4 when proper hardware was made available to worldwide studios.

Quantic Dream are heavily rumored to be showing up, their game has been in development on PS4 for a good 3 years already.

With it's heavy appeal in Europe Paris could be where Gran Turismo for PS4 finally gets officially unveiled and announced.

WiLD, Rime, Alienation, Shadow of the Beast and many other smaller studio releases could be shown, with new gameplay and release dates being given out.

Paris Games Week could be utterly phenomenal!!!!!

This seems like it's becoming the new Gamescom.

It should to be honest. Where do you think most tourist / families would want to go?

1. Honey let's go to Germany.....I have a Game Conference?

-_-

2. Honey let's go to Paris....I have a.....

DID YOU SAY PARIS, oh babe I love you so much......runs to call friends.....OMG he's taken me to Paris, I know he's sweet and I'm so lucky.

Paris is just simply a more internationally known city, and it's easier on families.

Can't wait for Paris Games Week

Lucreto3157d ago

Paris Games Week is the second biggest show in Europe but it never got much attention until Sony decided to move the conference there this year. Frankly I never heard of it until Sony mentioned it.

Can't wait for the conference, Media Molecule, Quantic Dream and possibly Ubisoft with the new Far Cry.

How could you forget Horizon?

I'm pretty sure Sony is going to have a big presence there.

triple_c3157d ago (Edited 3157d ago )

Not only will they have a big presence there, they will have the show all to themselves. They let Microsoft have Gamescom and let them get their conference out of the way so they can have PGS all to themselves. Also, this PGS event takes place right around the holidays. Having so much good PlayStation news come out around the holidays could sway a lot of peoples purchasing decision.

What Sony did was pretty smart.
