All systems have pluses and minuses attached to them, me I chose PS4 and Xbox One initially, however once I completed Dragonborne I tended to stick to Xbox One mainly Destiny as I just prefer the controller for shooters.
I have also recently started Dragon Age Inquisition via EA Access, so I recently sold my PS4 however after the announcement of the Hd version of the Snes Classic Super Star Wars I am somewhat regretting iselling it.

I'm all about Xbox one and PC atm, but really want to play Mario maker so may look out on ebay for a cheap wiiu.

I'll be picking up street fighter 5 on PC but if it turns out to be outstanding I might pick up a PS4 to play it there too, I've been a street fighter nut since playing SF2 in the arcades as a young teen.

I like variety in games but they are rare to find on X1 while PS4 has plenty, from Bloodborn, big FPS MP Planetside2, adventures like Vanishing of Ethan carter & Rapture, horror games like Until Dawn & SOMA, platformers like Tearaway, fun MP like Rocket League to JRPGs like Dragon Quest Heroes, Tales of Zestaria & Persona5

also about %90 of 3rd party games have better quality on PS4, and also now gets 3rd party content first for games like CoD

another big thing is that the user interface of the PS4 is better and faster and simple to use, social features are better especially with the Share button, and the upcoming OS v3.0 update will make it even much much better.

Most of your points are subjective. A lot of the games you mentioned are multiplat and the OS of the X1,in my opinion, is far more advanced than its competitor's.

SF5 will be cross platform, so you'll be able to play with the ps4 community from your PC. Might be you want a ps4 for a different screen or whatever, in which case that info makes no difference :)

If I had to pick one.

PC by far, it's got the most games and has true backwards compatibility. And all the big multi-platform games are on it. And it's got more of the types of games I prefer strategy and RPG's and modding.

Plus its always going to have the best graphical options using the newest tech with 60 FPS and what ever resolution your system can handle.

And PC can do so much more than just gaming, like multi-monitor the best video watching plus editing and recording and basically infinite other things. PC isn't just a gaming device it's a tool.

Secondarily PS4 for its exclusives. And finally Nintendo for its exclusives.

Xbox ONE for me not just because of games, that goes without saying.

I like the Extras, like that upcoming Xbox Elite controller which allows me to use DOME sticks like my PS3's Dualshock 3s. I care about my tools when playing my favorite genres. I love having options.

Now, Exclusives - A lot of them are action-oriented which I prefer over movie-like games, visual novels and turn-based RPGs with endless dialogue.

I got my XO in January.

Played Sunset OD, Ori, Ryse and Halo MCC. There were other exclusives but they weren't my cup of tea.

Then we have the fall exclusives this year... they speak for themselves.

Do games become irrelevant once we get into a new year?

If I had gotten a PS4, I'd be playing Bloodborne only.
I'm not really into Driveclub or Littlebigplanet. I'd rather play Halo over killzoneSF, I found Sunset more attractive than infamous second sons.

When I get a PS4 in 2016 which I believe is the right time for me. I'll play bloodborne Uncharted 4 and Horizon then, and whatever else they've got up their sleeve. I like my action games.

Ive had my PS4 for about 18 months now and very happy with it. It s a great addition to my PS3 and Vita which I still use and enjoy with always some good stuff from PS+ for all of them.
I particularly like my DS4 controllers (very nice to use and appreciate using the touchpad to type in the browser for example) and the intuitive and hassle free use of the console with quick install of the games I play in a given time.

I got a PC and a Wii U.

I'll pick up a PS4 or Xbone when either one gets enough RPGs to warrant doing so. As it stands now, it looks like I'll be grabbing a PS4 at some point to get the better version of Persona 5, Dragon Quest XI, Star Ocean 5, etc..

Until then, I'll be playing Smash Bros, Hyrule Warriors, etc., with my wife and a plethora of JRPGs on the 3DS and Vita by myself (though, some of the Vita RPGs I've been buying on Steam since they've been moving over to that platform, which is awesome since that means more people get to experience them).

my brother is a PC first guy and can play some 3rd party games at middle settings in 4K on his 780, so shouldn't be a long wait.

Yeah, I'm also waiting to get into 4k until 60FPS becomes the norm with that resolution, as well. I haven't upgraded my PC in a while (I'm still on a GTX 770 and i7 4770k, which I think I got in the middle of 2013 or so at a hefty discount), but my machine still runs things fairly well at 1080 and 1440p, so I'm not worried about it yet.

I don't have a 4k television, etc., yet anyway, I'm waiting for that to become more affordable as well, lol. I'm guessing here in about a year or two I'll be dropping a decent sum to get a 4k monitor, TV, new GPU/CPU/motherboard, etc., lol.

I have a GTX 970 myself and an i5-4690k (not overclocked yet) with 8GB DDR3 RAM. Obviously my PC is more powerful than the PS4 but that doesn't make me enjoy gaming on my PC more than on my PS4. I should've added that I work as an IT specialist application developmnent so I'm working at the PC for 8 hours a day. That's one but not the only factor why I much rather spend my gaming time at the console.

Even though I have a very powerful PC most of the time when I play on PC I play games like League of Legends and Hearthstone. Games like Batman, Witcher or MGSV are more enjoyable on the PS4 for me.

In the end it's just much more relaxing for me to play on the couch on my TV. And another reason is that a lot of my favorite and most anticipated games are Playstation exclusives.

Depends. I agree with @Pookandpie the PC/Wii U combination is best if you want to play the majority of great games on the market. Both XB1 and PS4 combined don't possess enough (if any) really great exclusives that weren't available last gen at least. Owning a Wii U myself I cant help feeling people are really missing out not owning one with so many truly great games simply unavailable on any other platform.

I have an Xbox One and Wii U. I don't even call my Xbox One a Xbox One though. I call it my Halo/Forza/Blu Ray/Netflix machine because that's mainly all I use it for. But oh my... the Wii U has given me the best gameplay so far. So many great games. Splatoon has to be my second favorite shooter of all time. Smash and Kart are couch essentials with my brothers back home. For people that poke fun at the Wii U and those that haven't experienced Splatoon can just go on not experiencing it. They don't deserve to have fun.

I have em all and it's the best of all worlds. I play multi-plats on pc and exclusives on the rest, it's awesome. Ps4 is my favourite, simply an awesome machine but there are phases of which machine I give time to depending on what's out. Xbox was the last one I've given my time to but it will be ps4 when ttk arrives (as well as tearaway unfolded, Nathan drake collection and dragon quest heroes). It'll be xbox when halo 5 arrives and hopefully I'll be getting the wind waker for wii u soon so that will get my time when I do. This is the first gen I've simultaneously owned all machines and honestly if you can afford to do it and you have interest in them all then it's the best way to go!

I prefer the Xbox One. Xbox just has more games that are geared towards Americans and I can appreciate that. Xbox One is also getting backwards compatibility and Xbox Live is seemingly more reliable than PSN. I might get a PS4 eventually, but right now it doesn't seem to have any must have games that I can't play else where. I'll probably never get a Wii U as I just don't like Nintendo games as much as I did during my childhood.

Building your own rig is a hell of a lot of fun! Just make sure to double check your parts are compatible! I chose one cpu cooler over another (basically the same just a different model number) because it was a pound cheaper. Turns out the other model was for the x99 chipset which is what I had, so the other one couldn't fit on. Little things like that could catch you.

I'm a PC only gamer because it's not just about the games. Games, work, videos, music, surfing the internet, fooling around with GIMP - all that in one single device.

Another main, a much more recent one, reason for me sticking with the PC is the prices. I used to wait for Steam Sales but then the daily and weekly sales appeared...and then Steam started selling games in local currencies and suddenly games are ever cheaper than ever. I have a friend whose husband is a PS fanatic and I can see the frustration in her face whenever she talked about him buying the latest PS4 games because console are priced higher than PC games and they almost never get discounts-most of them stay the same price even years later.

Cheaper games(and focusing on only one platform) means I have more money to spend on other stuff like buying plastic model. If I'm not playing games I would be assembling plastic models while listening to Youtube videos on my PC.

One isn't enough unless you're extremely easy to satisfy as far as gaming goes, have narrow tastes which don't require more than one console, or are a total fanboy of one particular choice.

Of course, if your finances just can't handle more than one console then that's a perfectly legit reason to just stick with one.

But if you're serious about getting a wider variety of really great games, and your funds can handle supporting games on more than one console, then you shouldn't settle for less than two.
And preferably, the wider the difference in the library of the two choices you take, the more varied and wonderful your collection will become.

If I could only have one, it would be the PC by a mile. I'm not a casual user, I love to customize my experience my way. The thing about consoles is that they optimize graphics over FPS. Most people who have the console may prefer this, but I'm willing to give up some detail for a better FPS. And of course gotta love mods. On Witcher 3 I downloaded a mod that removes the intros and storybook loading videos. I go from launching the game to moving Geralt in less than 10 seconds on my Raid 0 setup.

However, I can't give up Playstation exclusives either. So while I prefer to do the majority of my gaming on PC, I had to get a PS4 too. And with that said, I haven't missed a console Zelda game yet. Gonna grab that Wii U once the new Zelda releases. Or maybe the "NX", if Zelda gets ported to NX then I can hopefully get 2 Zelda games out of 1 console.

I could never just have one way to play games LOL. I love gaming too much.

I chose Xbox one for OS, exclusives, controller and integration with my surface, which will be super optimised cus it's MS hardware. That wasn't a big thing tbh when buying both, but now with Windows 10 it's a very good thing!

PS4 is a great console with great games, though!. When I get one I'm absolutely getting the uncharted collection and The Last of Us

Got a PS3, PS4 and just recently upgraded my PC.

Been a little disappointed with some of the PS4 games (BF4, CoD, Destiny was fun but a rip-off etc), digital games costs are ridiculous. Not particularly fond of the menu system and requiring oddball hardware for voip (PS3 is far better with Bluetooth) and most online games default to having other online players not muted and new wheel controllers (ok just read about TitanOne) which got me looking at upgrading my PC again.

No system is perfect but at least on the PC there are plenty of configuration options to play with - Mute by default is a rather simple one lol
I can now use my Logitech wheel again and it's fun playing some of my older PC games without having to endlessly repurchase.
I had expected there to be more RTS games on PS4 that made use of the pad but it seems not to be, fortunately I have plenty on the PC and there's lots of new ones available too.

Playing ESO on PS4, graphics aren't particularly great but it's fun so I'll likely buy Skyrim on PC which will feel like (graphically) an upgrade rather than an older game.

So for me its now PC->PS4 (exclusives and existing purchases->PS3 (games I still enjoy and didn't buy on PC)

First i'd look at the games you want to play which one has the most of those.

PC is going to have the biggest library, then xbox one (due to bc), then PS4

Out of those games which one has the types of games you want to play?

Do you like playing more with a controller or keyboard and mouse? PC most games do support a gamepad.

Cost? PC will be the most expensive. Do you mind installing games and tweaking hardware so the game runs well?

Personally i have all Four including handheld. I play most on console, but do love some pc games like mmo's and TCG's.

So first just decide console or PC then go from there.

I had the Wii U since launch and it my main platform.
Have the PS4 for about almost two month and of course since I only had it for short time. I am using it more for now to get a feel of it.

Right now the games I play are Dead or Alive 5 Last Round(CoreFighters) and J-Stars Victory VS+. Waiting for that Persona 5, Just Cause 3, Dragon Quest Heroes and Senran Kagura: Estival Versus.

Wii U playing Hyrule Warriors, Super Smash Bros. Wii U, Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon. With some VC such as Earthbound.

Getting Super Mario Maker, Star Fox Zero and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Fatal Frame V will come eventually in my hand.

So I am satisfied. I would be even more satisfied getting an Xbox One for Halo, Tomb Raider, Gears and Scalebound.

PS4 and PC for me like the JRPGS and Sony exclusives. I have no interest in XBOX and lost interest in nintendo after gamecube.

Why settle on one? I have a PS4 and Wii U and enjoy both. Wii U has a lot more games ATM I enjoy now and more to come with Zelda U, XCX FE Roku and more. PS4 Slow start for me but with Dragon Quest Heroes and Ys next year plus DAI Trespasser DLC in a few days plus more RPGs on the horizon PS4 will have a longer run for me.

Xbox One KI and Scalebound catch my interest so later down the line may snag one.

I have pc, ps4, & xbox one. TO be honest i play the vast majority of games on the pc its just better, you can make arguments all you want truth is pc is the best. My consoles are there for the exclusives.

Granted PC is miles ahead like it used to be, but running games side by side most console games just looked washed out in comparison to the pc.

Nx platform and win 10... ps4 later when God of war comes out. That seems to be the future. Currently wiiu with splatoon locked, mario maker and xenolade. With graphics taking a jump in the pc world I may go win 10 for xbone games and steam. Nx since I'm really having fun with the wiiu and 3ds. Still waiting on the games I want to play for sony stuff. I'm a god of war man... the order and uncharted, last of us are not my types of games.

Well if I could afford a high end PC with a 4k display I would definitely invest in one but, I'd still keep my PS4 because of franchises like Infamous, Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, Until Dawn and JRPGS like Persona, Shin Megami Tensei and Disagea. I also plan to keep my PS3, Wii and X360 to play last generation's games. I'm not into Halo or Gears Of War but the X1 has a few games out or coming that I'd like to play (Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Rare Replay and maybe Forza) just not enough to make me want to purchase it at this time. I used to be a big Nintendo fan but I have grown tired of Mario and co so, no Wii U for me.

the Wii U is my favorite. all the games I have for it are just top notch, and i dont particularly enjoy games with long drawn out stories. i mean i do.. just not ALL the time. i like games that focus on gameplay and games that are difficult because of tricky level design. Every game i have for Wii U has something like that

The Wii U was the one for me. Now I'm waiting on the NX.
