Succulent Simulator ‘Viridi’ Launches on Steam Next Week

Hardcore Gamer: "Some people feel that the simulation genre has gone too far. I think it hasn’t gone far enough. Ice Water Games might be in agreement with me as they’re preparing to launch Viridi: a succulent plant simulator."

Pocket Gamer - Viridi Review

Pocket Gamer - I don't think Viridi is for me, not really. It sits into the same contemplative framework as Mountain, but rather than giving you a floating rock in space to look at, it gives you a series of plant pots.

You stick some bulbs in the plant pots, water them, watch them grow, and that's sort of it. There's loads of esoteric side-alleys to explore, but no real clues as to how you get to them.

I do love snails. It reminds me a lot of the Zen Garden in PvZ, with plants that mysteriously excreted money every so often. You had a cool little snail in that too :) Spent far too many hours in that virtual garden...

Steam never fails to amuse me with many of its weird and wonderful titles. Very tempted to play this, although I'm worried that I'd just spend the rest of my life watching a snail slowly going around in circles. xD

All of the games available to us fans and we get hooked with repetitive nonsense like watching snails, or playing Call of Duty.

I know! I spend way too much time playing clicker games, for example.

Sounds very interesting. Might play it when I get the chance :)

Viridi: A non-review for a non-game | GameCrate

Viridi is a plant simulator that acts more like a companion that you leave on in the background while being heavy on the Zen.
