I think I just could sit there for hours on end taking down buildings. That destruction is frickun great.

Wow, love when devs push new next gen experiences.

"Make your own bridges by taking down skyscrapers."

-Oh man if this works anywhere close to what they're showing in the finished online game with thousands of gamers online at once its going to be some epic "oh sh*t" moments.

Pintheshadows3185d ago

That is exactly what I am going to do. Looking forward to it. Makes me want to play the first two.

This does look incredible. I really like the fact that the more intense the destruction, the system is smart enough to automatically upgrade to allow another server to help assist in the calculation of the physics. eventually, this could be endless as how big a world can be.

Many thought MS didn't have a megaton at Gamescom but it is there underneath our feet all along. Truly the next evolution of gaming made possible by Azure!

candystop3185d ago

Now that was simply incredible! So much detail and such a huge city. Once they add life and other aspects I can only see this world really coming to life like nothing before it. This tech hopefully is used in Phantom Dust and Gears 4 as well. I wonder what's going on with DX12. MS is letting it's tech speak for itself. Just amazing wow, I'm truly blown away!

freshslicepizza3185d ago

microsoft made the mistake of trying to have a system that always required a connection even though after seeing games like this we can see the potential of it. consumers want choices and thankfully they are still going ahead with games like this that can utilize the cloud technology. this is amazing stuff and the frame rate remains steady even with everything going on.

people love flashy graphics but most of those games are not physical. it's just scenery. this game has the potential to flatten the whole city and changing the entire landscape. just think of the potential this cloud technology could be applied to other types of games.

super_bruno3185d ago

Next Gen is here. This looks amazing.

donthate3185d ago (Edited 3185d ago )

moldy:

If MS could go ahead with their plan of always online, your single player campaign games would all be like this!

Gears 4 with cover and hiding behind walls would be just absolutely amazing with this technology!

Sadly a lot of people lacked the imagination to see the vision MS had and latched onto physical discs that put us decade behind in the digital game space. Heck, we might not even recover from it.

That is pretty cool.

I think Im missing something here. They show that in a mp game the destruction gets crazy enough that it ends up pulling from 10 other cloud servers. No way they would have more servers than players because of the obvious costs so what am I not understanding?

donthate3185d ago

MS in 2013 promised 300k servers for cloud computation. MS might just up that now, who knows.

A server has massive computational power and memory optimized for efficiency. Note also that when David Jones says 10 servers, it doesn't necessarily mean he is using the entirety of the server, but a slice of it.

That said, even if MS allows fewer servers per multiplayer game the experience will still be leaps above what we have now.

Thanks for the info donthate. Helpful bubble+

Daz3185d ago

very cool stuff, Can not wait to play this with friends.

Godz Kastro3185d ago

When I would play crackdown I always told my friends the game would be awesome with destruction and coop. Little did I know they would take it to this level. So happy with MS these days. Not one complaint.
