I'm sure the last gen version will look great, after all I'm getting the PS3 version

WitWolfy3215d ago (Edited 3215d ago )

The 360 and PS3 versions of GZ look PHENOMENAL when compared to their next gen counterparts. I have no doubt in my mind that TTP will be any different.

Loktai3215d ago

Yeah I Mean.... theres a difference but ground zeroes looks fine on PS3. Ill be playing on PS4 but Im sure the experience will be similar enough.

d0x3603215d ago

It does look good for old hardware no doubt. I was going to get it on ps4 but I'm going PC. I had a chance to try GZ on PC the other day and the difference is pretty big especially at 4k 60fps

Loktai3211d ago

now THAT Im sure is a leap. I think it looks great on PS4 but I dont have a 4k display to take advantage. Im moving my theater room and will eventually upgrade TVs and maybe put a gaming PC in there... build a quiet place to store it so I dont need to go low-end to hear myself think and Ill be in 4k bliss also.

solidsnake2223215d ago

Anybody know where the English version of the new demo is?

Meltic3215d ago

why did they even bother with the old gens. This was the last MGS.... would have been cool to only have next gen MGS

Sm00thop3215d ago

Some game engines just scale really well over different hardware, plus there is still a massive audience on last gen that can't afford to upgrade right now and I'm happy that everyone gets to at least play the game. It will obviously be better on current gen so no one is getting shafted.

IIFloodyII3215d ago

Probably because it started development 5+ years ago.
I'm just guessing here now, but Japan probably played a big part in the decision too, with current gen consoles not really taking off there.

WitWolfy3215d ago

You DO know you're talking about Konami here, right?

Fez3215d ago

I'm a bit disappointed it is cross platform as well. MGS games have always pushed the graphical boundaries on release and even though V looks great, I wouldn't say it's any sort of graphical benchmark or standard on consoles.

Bit of a shame Konami is trying to maximize profits rather than potential.

d0x3603215d ago

The only disappointing aspect of this games visuals is the simple geometry which is due to previous gen consoles. You can see it everywhere but especially the rocks which are àlways pointy. People rarely consider complex geometry when speaking of visuals but its incredibly important

PhucSeeker3214d ago

I'll take 60fps over eye-candy any day of the week. But what's that? MGS5 will be released on PC? You know what, drop last-gen ver.

twiggytree123215d ago

Kojima wants his games to be enjoyed on as many platforms as possible, nothing wrong with that.

Germany73214d ago

The PS3 version will sell a lot, that's for sure.

ginsunuva3215d ago

So that's why it runs @60fps

IIFloodyII3215d ago

Also the Fox engine being amazing. Shame it'll probably only now get used for PES.

WitWolfy3215d ago (Edited 3215d ago )

I was under the impression that the FOX engine is property of Kojima, not Konami.

IIFloodyII3215d ago (Edited 3215d ago )

It's Konami's, everything Kojima Productions has made, is Konami's.

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan175d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara175d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721175d ago (Edited 175d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus175d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow175d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga191d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19191d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19191d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq191d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger191d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder191d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils191d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder191d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85191d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac191d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420191d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim191d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo191d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
