I find this hilarious.

As an owner of Xbox One and PS4, I continually demand better from MS and Sony. In this case, MS got Sony beat hands down.

Every month there are new features released to the Xbox One, and every month I am bothered with a stability release on my PS4 with no functionality change. MS continually responds to user request for new features they want.

But keep putting that PS4 on the pedestal, and soon me and many others will trade it in for an Xbox One.

Last generation, Sony tried really hard with the PS3 and finally released PS+ to everyones amazent. Why?

Because you asked for more and didn't give them a free pass. Now we got over priced PS Now and people keep defending it. Guess what, it is still there and is still overpriced. So keep handing out those free passes!

To be fair, Sony did release with more features than MS did. MS was playing catch up for a while until they surpassed the PS4 in features, so why not complain about how long it took MS to catch up to Sony in this regard.

Who cares about feature updates anyways? The PS4 plays multi-plats better so think that is the most important feature for a game machine. I like having those extra features, but I don't eagerly anticipate them with bated breath, because I play games on the system more than anything else. There are features which are nice to have as well, but again, so long as it boots the game, and doesn't crash, I'm good. Same goes for X1, which seems to be able to boot a game and not crash.

My suggestion when you trade in your PS4...get an Amazon Fire TV because that seems to be what you care more about than games. Makes no sense to trade in a PS4 to get a 2nd X1. There are cheaper alternatives for media needs.

You do realize if they are adding features to the Xbox One it was missing a lot from the start...Like video capture more than 30s, the ability to take a screen shot, and tons more. This is all stuff they added that the PS4 had from launch!

The PS4's UI is way better. It's a lot more simpler and easier to use than the Xbox One's UI.

Last I checked, it was the XMB that got a massive amount of design awards and had way more critical acclaim. The original xbox had kudos but not sure I remember anyone talking up the 360 ui.

The blade system was pretty cool. XMB was simpler to navigate, but itself got "cluttered" near the end. It wasn't hard to find anything, but they did pack a lot of stuff into each category. The more recent 360 ones were not what I would consider intuitive, although they were easy enough to navigate. Best though... dunno about that. PS3's XMB was simple, functional, intuitive, and did the job. The only downside was that it could be laggy at times while playing a game.

The PS4 UI is just an enhanced XMB for the most part. They threw in some social media stuff but all the important stuff is at the top of each section so you can ignore the "clutter". They also separated out some stuff so there isn't so much crammed into a single section.

I wouldn't mind some more customization aspects to the PS4 UI...like being able to have my own level of stuff I use most, but beyond that, I find it perfectly acceptable.

People generally buy a games console to play games and not play the UI.

The X1's UI is clunky and cumbersome to use, it irritates me sometimes just how hard it is to do anything.

That is your opinion, I have both as well and I much prefer the Xbox Ones however I feel the PS4s runs smoother. Honestly I wish Xbox One was as easy to use as the old guide on Xbox 360, and the PS3 had much better customization and organization options than PS4. Heck the Wii and 3ds do a better job at displaying your apps on the home screen. I have had the thing a week and everything feels unorganized. It manages speed though MS would be smart to integrate the friends and party apps right into the home screen rather than make them separate apps (looks to be this way when the new UI arrives the side bar reminds me of the top layer of the ps4 menu).

Xbox One has quick access to recent apps and multitasking but choppy while the PS4 is quick but far to simplified. Hopefully Xbones new UI takes the best of both which it looks like it is.

Also I really do not like the PS4 store design (barely even works on PS3) , and that Spotify background music is a huge plus

And I also have both systems and think the PS4's UI is way, way better than X1's. Its as simple and intuitive as can get while the X1's UI is a complicated and a mess. It doesn't even show you the game version? Meaning you don't even know what version of the game you're on. And when there's an fw update for the X1 you are stuck on the update screen til it finishes downloading and installing over 2gigabytes for the fw update. That's worst than even the PS3.

I think the X1 has more features and is more robust overall, but Sony's simple UI is sufficient for a game machine. You can get to almost everything with one or two button clicks

Some X1 players seem to want a PC Windows UI more than a game console. Makes me wonder if they are trying to write word documents or play games.

You are absolutely correct. I have both systems and I like games on both. Playstation UI is much better than Xbox One's.

Certain fanboys think that everything about the system they chose is perfect. Make up or exaggerate things to dislike about the other.

Bitching about stability updates that come about once every other month and are installed most of the time when the console is in standby mode is kinda silly. Windows gets security updates nearly every day, don't see any dumb articles written about that. A good many complaining don't even own a PS4.

It's vague because it's probably some code that's been tightened up and makes the system more stable. When a PS4 crashes you should send the info on when it asks. It helps.

Yeah its one of my favourite features. I would also add the quick install times as well. It was painful to install games on the PS3.

It seems my games update, but system updates may or may not download and I usually have to install them after I fire up the system. I'll check again when I get home, but not expecting anything different.

I have auto updates enabled. Only time I have to reboot is for system updates, and even then it's only on occassion when it requires a reboot. Most annoyance I have out of it is if I don't play the PS4 for a while and then I turn it on to see a bunch of notifications pop up, and then it's not even that annoying.

Looks like it may tie into some network infrastucture upgrades or new wifi firmware. Over the last decade of Sony consoles its never registered my broadband speed as above 22Mbps at the very best. Compared to the full speed I get on LIVE. I've just run a test & it's now gone up to 36Mbps for the first time ever.

Seems like all our complaining for #BetterPSN has maybe worked. About time!!
