yeah after that turd that was the digital event they better give all wii u owners 90% discount

higgins783236d ago

Digital events, screenshots and propaganda are one thing, having an actual library of great physical released games is another. I'm choosy, and I have roughly 20 games for my WiiU, NO filler whatsoever. My PS4 which I bought at launch on the other hand...GTAV and TLOU, both of which I enjoyed but played already only last gen. This gen may be a 'win' for Sony in terms of sales, on the ground however its easily been (for me) Nintendo gen. Long may it continue.

Doodleburger3236d ago

If you have 20 wiiu games, you skipped filler and went right to garbage. I own 4,and i've played zero of them in the last 6 months. Meanwhile, my PS4 and X1 are plenty busy. I used to think i was the only smart one of my friends, because I was the only one that bought a wiiu. Now i realize i was the only idiot that dropped money on it.

higgins783236d ago

Yes, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, SM3DW, Tropical Freeze, Smash, Pikmin 3, Captain Toad, etc, etc. Yes, you really were an idiot, when all the while you could be playing a 'remaster' from only last gen on a 'next gen' machine.

Bimkoblerutso3236d ago (Edited 3236d ago )

I don't think there can be any denying that all three systems have been fairly disappointing this generation.

It is truly the era of previous-gen ports, retreads, remasters, and free-to-play garbage, if you ask me.

voodoochild3463236d ago

Stop being a fan of dude. They'll keep dropping the ball as long as they have you to pick it up for them. As a wii u and 3ds owner, I'm disappointed. I feel like Nintendo has given up on the wiiu after this year and have moved on to the next system. A system that I'll now not purchase at all or will wait for the 199.99 price point.

higgins783235d ago

Not purchasing a Nintendo system is giving up on videogames in general. Also, if "picking up the ball" is owning and playing the 20+ games I have in my WiiU library - absolutely NO filler, then yes, I'll continue to do just that. I would argue Sony and Microsoft should be more grateful, not many new experiences between them but a marketing and propaganda push so good it has convinced millions to buy into it.

It seems Nintendo now restricts international purchases on eShop from certain countries

Users will be greeted with error code 2813-2470 if they try to purchase something from the Argentinian eShop without having a bank card or gift card registered for that particular country.

They need to start quality control and getting rid of the shovelware garbage that's been infecting eShop lately.

Good. You can't invade a foreign sovereign country and expect things to go on hunky dory. Queue the Russian bots to down vote me. I don't care. This is not okay. A child and her mother killed over night. In their own home. In their own country.

Wii U & 3DS eShop are gone. What now? - Opinion Piece

Dan Rizzo says "So this is where we’re at with Nintendo and their continuous colloquy of tedious arguments against emulation. It’s funny how a company that’s so against open-source emulation, uses it to sell commercial products such as the NES and SNES Classic Mini, but release a minimal quantity to drum-up all the hype behind it, only to leave a majority of its fanbase disappointed when struggling to acquire the now collector’s piece."

Jailbreak. It was pretty easy on the 3ds, there are good guides out there.

CrimsonWing69378d ago

someone made a good point that older music, movies, and books are far more easier to get access to than games. I think the industry needs to make a change. It's crazy that so much is gone now and I'm willing to pay for the games, but there's literally no way to get them now.

fan_of_gaming378d ago

I can't speak to music as I don't collect it, and books are still quite accessible through paperbacks & hardcover releases. But movies & tv shows are starting to have a problem with accessibility now, with all these streaming-exclusives. Before everything would get a DVD or Blu-ray release, but now if content is pulled from a streamer, like happened with some HBO Max stuff recently, there's often no physical disc option or even a digital download through a service like iTunes. They're just lost media, same as delisted digital-only games.

play all of the games I got before they closed
