Gamers Platform Preview - Siren: Blood Curse Hands On Impression

GamersPlatform Writes:

"When I first heard about the new Siren game coming out for the PlayStation 3, I got excited because it's been a while since I've played a horror survival game, and I've been craving for a real horror-survival game that will really scare the hell out of me. The first time I saw the teaser trailer of the game, I told myself that this is the game I want to play. Just in time before E3 hits next week, SCEA has released a demo through the PlayStation Store!

Siren: Blood Curse is your typical horror-survival game in which its gameplay resembles that of Silent Hill, and it's divided into different chapters. As soon as I saw the opening screen of the game, the sound effects in the background reminded me of The Grudge and it already gave me what kind of atmosphere I'm going to get once I started playing this game. Okay, turn the lights out, and max out the volume…."

The demo was pretty good. The graphics and environment are amazing. I know some would complain about the combat and all, but you have to take notice that the characters are just camera mens. They are not soldiers or anything.

How did I get 5 disagrees, when all I said it wasn't for me?

Look the mechanics of the game were just awful. I was told to sneak past the creature minner dude. So I did and I watched my character slide UP!!! the stairs. His feet barely moved and he glided UP the stairs. The whole spot light bit...just didn't do it for me. Something about it didn't sit right for me. Once I saw that I was through. I'll download it again, and give it a try one more time, but I don't think I'll change MY oppinion not your oppinion... MINE!

To give me disagrees because I didn't like it is... childish. The game didn't appeal to me.

I actually think it was a pretty good demo. The atmosphere was just right the crappy camera made it that much more frightening the limited abilities of the character made him more relate able and understandable considering he's a regular guy.

8 Best Horror Game Remakes

If you're going to relive a nightmare, you might as well do it right.

One thing that's been prevalent now more than ever is video game remakes. Dormant series like Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, and System Shock aren't first getting brand-new sequels but remakes of the classic entries. Horror titles are no exception, with the recent Resident Evil, Dead Space, and Silent Hill remakes.

Putting aside whether these remakes are necessary, most of them are excellent. They can expand and enrich the world with added details, improve gameplay mechanics, or put more focus on the story. Standard remakes will count, but story remakes or reimaginings will also be included.

If Castlevania is there as an Horror Game then Demon's Souls should be there as well.

Also, you might want to add Shadow of the Colossus there too. Where you play as a mass murdering genocidal maniac on a warpath.
