The Best way to get Legendaries and Exotics in Destiny

Excerpt from piece: "It doesn’t come as much of a surprise, and I’m sure most are aware already, but Bungie have nerfed the ‘loot cave’. No longer can players stand idly shooting at a black abyss only to be rewarded with exotic and legendary items. Naturally this has lead to some criticism, but I think with fair consideration it’s easy to see why Bungie wouldn’t want the game to devolve into this mindless grind-fest and that leads to the bottom line; If you’re playing only to level up to 30, then you’re not likely to have a good time."

i really do like this game but they need to fix the loot system. im a level 27 titian and have over 80 hours in the game and i have friends that are level 16 with exotics and legendary weapons. i on the other hand have yet to get 1 exotic and all my legendary engrams turn to blues and greens.

Palitera3501d ago

They probably played the game the proper way to progress: caving.

People who have trouble getting exotics and legendaries should try the crucible and stink at it…I was with my buddy who sucked and our team had to carry him through the 6v6…and he got a legendary helmet while we all got Motes and rare gear

(And that system of giving the weakest in the crucible matches the best gear has to stop, so I'm trying to get everybody to try it out and see if they don't get good loot, AND in the process maybe Bungie will see everybody purposefully sucking in the Crucible and changing the loot you get from it)

Seems that way... I had many issues with the crucible at first, kept trying to use weapons that didn't work in PvP.

Would get the best rewards end game quite often... Now that I know the ins and outs, I'm usually 1st or 2nd and literally get nothing 90% of the time.. Or its a useless item if I get anything

BattleTorn3501d ago (Edited 3501d ago )

You're friends would need to be at least level 20, in order for any Legendary or Exotic engrams to drop. (via farming, or random)

So, I'm gonna call BS.

Only other possible way they've earned Legendaries or Exotics is through playing tons of Crucicle or Vanguard missions, in order to both earn marks and rank up their reputation to Rank 2 to use the marks at vendors.

A process that would likely get them to 20, first!

ErcsYou3501d ago

Nope... I got my first legendary and exotic at level 18.. One in the crucible when I pulled 2nd and I had a blue engram turn in to a legendary helmet. I had like 5 or 6 legendary engrams before that..

Yomamaslama3501d ago

If your 27 you should either join a clan or find a solid group to help you with nightfall missions and the raid. And pray your blues turn into strange coins. By now you should be able to afford exotics from xur. They make the armors really cheap to make them accessible.

Rooted_Dust3501d ago

The Black Market agent is the best way to get your first exotic, for legendary weapons and armor you should be working on your factions.

n4rc3501d ago

This topic is actually the first time I've said to myself "f u bungie!!"

I have 60 hours in. Level 27 hunter... Have never seen an exotic anything..

I finally grind my way with strange coins and notes of light.. so today was the day!

Only to find xurs prices raised to 2 coins more then I have (items last week were 13 and 17 I believe, now you need 23) but OK.. Fine... Next week

But bought the exotic engram.. Ya, awesome bungie.. Give me an item for a different class.. "You worthless pieces of s..."

Just raged in the moment... But when denying people from this item for 60 hours of gameplay.. Make me grind my ass off to get it, and you somehow think its fair to give me a completely worthless and unusable item?

Huge dick move by them..

Destiny Made Over $160 Million In Microtransaction Revenue In Less Than 2 Years

Destiny has made over $160 million in MTX revenue, and these numbers only account the data from late 2017 to early 2019.

Sgt_Slaughter334d ago

That's extremely low for microtransactions, especially for a game that's essentially designed around it

LucasRuinedChildhood334d ago (Edited 334d ago )

This was back when the game wasn't free to play.

The figures are from November 2017 to February 2019 (1 year and 4 months).

Based on that projection, the MTX revenue for Destiny 2 likely would have been closer to ~$240m for 2 years.

Not sure if premium expansions are included in that figure either although ... I'd hope that they are though and that most of the revenue was for actual content like Forsaken.

People spend way too much money on cosmetics.

Rude-ro334d ago (Edited 334d ago )

Seasons($10 and just got bumped to $12) and dungeon keys($10 each, two a year) are through the eververse(micro transaction) store.
So for those two years, in order to play a season, you would pay through micro transactions.

Sonic1881334d ago (Edited 334d ago )

Bungie Marathon will be worse since it's designed around it as well

Kurt Russell334d ago

It makes me sad to agree... but at the same time I am looking forward to giving it a go. Destiny 2 is so far in, I find it difficult to figure out what I am meant to do first.

buffig334d ago

I think FIFA alone makes over $1bn a year from mtx

anast334d ago

FIFA promotes a worldwide sport. It should make more money than destiny.

CantThinkOfAUsername334d ago (Edited 334d ago )

Let's compare something similar. Apex Legends and its ridiculous $18/$40 skins make EA a billion each year.

z2g334d ago

For as much as ppl complain how much they hate microtransactions, they sure don’t act like it. No wonder they aren’t going anywhere.

spicelicka334d ago

By "people" you're referring to millions and millions of people. Obviously the ones complaining aren't necessarily the same as the ones spending all that money.

There's millions that purchase MTX and there's nothing we can do about it

I've been thinking about playing through D1 again before it goes away...

CobraKai485d ago

That’s the sad reality of a game like this. I bought it, invested lots of money, and it can go away at anytime. I still think this was more fun than 2.

jeromeface484d ago

prob because 2 is a grindfest slog

spoonard482d ago

That's the bummer of 'games as a service'.
