Titanfall Review | Expert Reviews

How do you transform an entire genre with one game? A good start is to put Vince Zampella and Jason West in charge; they were two of the men responsible for the Call of Duty series, which blended twitch action shooting with RPG-style persistent progress. Titanfall, their debut effort at new studio Respawn Entertainment, again breathes new life into the FPS genre with an incredible mix of intense gunplay and precise movement; which somehow manages to be both familiar, yet unlike anything you've played before.

A perfect score? Right expert reviews. says it all. a multiplayer game with not so much game modes, a nonexistent campaign which you still need to connect online and with last gen graphics. wow perfect.

What happened to your bubbles? Oh, nothing but a troll, that's why.

It's like when it's a xbone exclusive, graphics don't matter what so ever even if it's last gens graphics on a next gen console.... Are reviewers purposely trying to downplay graphics so the ps4 doesn't get the upper hand?
I don't care what anybody says, but this gen I expect graphics and game play to be parallel to each other. Anything less should be marked down.
And don't get me started on its fake single player campaign lol.

Eff anyone who calls them self an expert gamer, reviewer or game journalist, their is no such thing, it is all subjective and just opinion. Doesn't matter how much insider information you are privy to or what you know technically about development It is all just a matter of opinion. I have been playing games for more than 30 years, I build my own PC's and I have taken Programming classes in college, and I would never be so bold as to call myself an expert in gaming. If you think your an expert because your a gaming journalist or just play games, your not, you are just arrogant.

Their is no such thing as a perfect game so stop giving perfect scores. Stop giving scores anyway let your review speak for you not a numeric score but that would be just too honest wouldn't it.

The reviewer ends with saying the game is by no means perfect but give it a perfect score, so much for common sense which often gets throne out the window when reviewing an Xbox One exclusives. Expert my ass.

This may not be the most robust game ever as far as FPS go but this is easily the most fun I've had with one since MW1. I would rate is 4.75 - 5. Absolutely a blast to play and I can't seem to not want to play as mush as I may try. lol

Out of ten, but seriously not a perfect game thats insulting to great games, its a 8/10 but no where near perfect

Transform a genre? Don't be stupid.

PrinterMan3686d ago (Edited 3686d ago )

Played this game yesterday. I could not believe how poor the graphics are. Why use a 10 year old engine? Does it ever show. No dimension to the graphics at all. 9's and 10's for this game? How ??? It defines nothing. Has nothing new and is void of many things.

Not going on my PC.

I give it 6.5

Geekman3686d ago (Edited 3686d ago )

You are a PERFECT example of the idiots who base a game completely off of graphics. You should be their mascot.

No_Limit3686d ago

Whoa a 5/5 for Titanfall from Maria! Am I dreaming? I guess she ran out of 7s and 8s reviews for the game.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad595d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g595d ago (Edited 595d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad876d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal874d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
