Nice to see more headsets coming out for the new consoles

GearSkiN3716d ago

Yeah but are they surround sound or another just stereo headset, Microsoft fix this problem so I can actually use my A50

USA0073716d ago

He is talking about the X1's lack of Dolby surround through optical out, which makes pretty much any gaming headset only able to use stereo. I'm assuming they'll patch this in just in time for their products to release in march

@USA007

Read it again. Then respond.

I was assuming you were including the Astros and turtle beach when you said "both" are surround. But I guess not...

BigShotSmoov0073716d ago

I was going to ask the same thing, I don't think they are surround sound, just stereo headsets.

GearSkiN3716d ago

yes im talking about the lack of Doubly support of xbox one making all the headset Stereo only.

Turtle Beach is garbage quality. I bought 2 TB Earforce X12 for Christmas 2 years ago at Gamestop. Since, both have broken 5 times and have been replaced through Gamestop. Both the sound and mic are pretty much guaranteed to eventually break on this particular headset. I can't speak for other TB headsets but if this is what I get for $69+ tax then why would I invest more money for a more expensive one.

*edit After writing this my wife informed me that she had bought my 8 yr old son an XL 1 headset which broke after 2 months of regular use.

Well, you did buy the lowest end headset from tb, you do get what you pay for

gamer20133716d ago (Edited 3716d ago )

The XL 1 was lowest end while the X12's were mid end. My 14 yr old stepson also had the $100 "all in one" headset for his 360 and ps3 to which the mic has broken. He now has a mid range Triton which he's had for about 7 months now with no problems - so far. My 8 yr old has also had a $20 Triton for about 3 months now with no problems.

I believe that good quality is just good quality no matter what the price. Nobody should have to pay top dollar for something just to last that's just silly.
