Joe is right Oculus will change everything

Irishguy954181d ago (Edited 4181d ago )

Agreed, its the next step for gaming. It'll add to the immersion 10 fold. I can't wait to try it. Everyone who has tried it seems to think it's amazing and the next step above Tv's for gaming. Even the ones who are skeptical about the whole idea seem to come out of the experience wishing for more

Edit- yeah you should wait to try it before you buy Snookies, I don't get Motion sickness myself so I should be fine.

Snookies124181d ago (Edited 4181d ago )

My only concern is whether or not it'll make me motion sick... I've had this experience on one or two games before. (Bioshock 2 was one of them, even though I played the first one just fine.)

I just don't want to plop down a lot of money on one of these and find out it makes me feel ill. That would really suck. :\

Other than that though, this thing looks awesome and I can't wait to check it out. Wonder if they'll have test units in stores close to its release, kinda like they do with consoles/handhelds. That would be great.

@snookies
The game that would give me terrible headaches was HL2. The game was to good to stop so I just dealt with the headaches.
While I want to try this and think it will be great I just don't want to wear that when I game. I want tv's that are like windows and have 3d depth.

Joe isn't a comedian, he's a bad-assian

JohnnyTower4180d ago

Former Karate Champ and still Shredded at 40-something. He's the real deal.

PoSTedUP4180d ago

a smart mofo too, joe is the man.

PeaSFor4180d ago

Karate has had an influence on TKD mainly due to the occupation of Korea by Japan in the early to mid 20th century, but its not a form of karate.

MASTER_RAIDEN4180d ago

shame joe rogan sucks and isnt funny in the least. not that OR isnt awesome.

ELpork4180d ago

Since when is Joe Rogan a barometer for future tech? I mean I'd go to him if I wanted some good dope, or some solid crazy stoner conversation... or tips on how to "Break a bro", but tech?...

DanielGearSolid4180d ago

Who said he has to be the "go to"?

He tried it and liked it, he's a celebrity, so ppl talk about it

ELpork4180d ago

Who's put it on and not liked it?... Like... really though, I'm curious... OUTSIDE of John Carmack complaining about how he want's to fix it that is.

Jovanian 4180d ago (Edited 4180d ago )

have you seen his podcast? he likes to talk about trendy tech or scientific stuff

Also, this is great news for occulus rift. They might even get some TV time on the scyfy show that rogan hosts

starchild4180d ago

Yeah, if the Oculus Rift gets featured on Joe Rogan Questions Everything it will give it a lot more exposure.

I've been lucky enough to get to use the Rift on a few occasions and it really is something amazing. Even the dev unit was incredibly immersive. I can only imagine how great it is with all the improvements they have made since then.

PeaSFor4180d ago

"Even Sony seems to be jumping on the bandwagon, if the recent rumors are true."

erm.. its not like if sony have been working on VR headsets for a long time .... At least way before the Rift ...

Sitdown4180d ago

Zarathos No Daimaōh, is that you?

PeaSFor4180d ago (Edited 4180d ago )

who

Sitdown4180d ago

Person on the article website who had pretty much the same post in the comment section.

starchild4180d ago

Head mounted displays like Sony's HMZ-T3W are not VR headsets. They have no motion tracking and a very small field of view. They are basically like having a tv floating out in front of your face.

Although they superficially look similar they are actually completely different things.

Oculus has been working hard on the actual challenges of VR and demonstrating exciting new advancements almost at every turn. The consumer Rift is supposed to launch later this year.

That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.

Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.

But it's EA. They don't think.

Babadook7771d ago

I agree. It would sell better on PSVR2 right now.

Knushwood Butt771d ago (Edited 771d ago )

A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?

Abnor_Mal771d ago

Not into F1 racing, but still a missed opportunity.

ApocalypseShadow771d ago

That's where opportunity presents itself that they could offer something else that other developers haven't offered yet. Yeah. There's No Man's Sky. But a space game with a story would be great. Like the old days with Colony Wars.

Abnor_Mal771d ago

Exactly, they could have possibly lured more players just from the inclusion of a vr mode.

I miss Colony wars and G-Police, Low-Fi I hope will scratch that itch when it releases. We also need a vr War/Starhawk game.

Knushwood Butt771d ago

Just watched the trailer of Low-Fi. Most definitely on my radar.
