Most Anticipated: The Witness

Eurogamer: There are three simple reasons why The Witness is my most anticipated game of 2014.

The first is Jonathan Blow. His debut game, Braid, still dazzles and thrills me when I revisit it, five years after its release. Quite simply, I like how Jonathan Blow thinks about games. I like that he doesn't see their artistic worth as somehow separate from their mechanical parts, but inextricably linked to them. He isn't ashamed or embarrassed by the medium's fondness for jumping from platforms and squashing bizarrely shaped enemies. He makes games that are artful, rather than making art that looks like a game.

When was this game ever an exclusive?

Braid was, and still is, much loved and that was an XBLA exclusive.

Kayle might mean after the game is no longer a timed - exclusive. Though I think "The Witness" is only a timed - exclusive due to it being developed on the PS4 first, not due to any kind of legal agreement.

I would say this game is my #1 anticipated title on the PS4 with the indie game "Rime" coming in at a close second. I will say that adventure is my favorite genre so it's understandable why those two are so high on my list. "The Witness" reminds me of the classic PC game "Myst," while "Rime" reminds me of "ICO." Both "Myst" & "ICO" mesmerized me and I look forward to anything that can replicate, and hopefully surpass, those previous experiences.
