Forgotten Gems: Resistance 3

Pixelgate writes:

''The first-person shooter is truly and ridiculously overcrowded. And they’re mostly all the same, too. Go here, shoot that, save the world. It’s pretty standard fare. Naturally, the nature of the market has resulted in many people becoming rather jaded with shooters, and this results in some games just not doing all that well in terms of sales, regardless of quality.'' (PS3, Resistance 3)

a lot of people don't like this game but i love it. only major gripe i have with this game is that the ending sucks.
king_george  +   527d ago
I thought the ending was cool in the sense that they would be able to continue the story in an interesting way by introducing the (SPOILER) true chimera :( too bad it doesnt seem like we'll be getting a sequel :(

On a side note: this game is far from forgotten in my house. Me and my sis still play the awesome co op story!

Didn't play R3, but that was only cause I had a mean collect of games that where just collecting dust. Story was good MP was great IMO, epic 30 vs 30 battles, online co-op was good as well. Probably should go and pick it up at gamestop for the low....

I thoroughly loved this entire series.

I don't see how the ending sucks. Resistance 3 was a great game, and no one cared about it unfortunately.
shivvy24  +   527d ago
Yea they released it during the whole mw3 vs bf3, uncharted 3, gears 3, rage etc
assdan  +   526d ago
Oh yeah, I forgot it released close to all of those.
NarooN  +   527d ago
Agreed. My friend bought it and brought it over, so we proceeded to do co-op and we beat the game in one sitting (well, we took breaks, but still...)

Had a blast, but the ending was pretty crap. The only good thing about it was that it paved the way for a possible sequel in the future, but due to how poorly it sold, we'd be lucky if we ever got one.

The MP was hit-and-miss, but still fun. And once again, Insomniac proved that they fucking ROCK when it comes to creating badass weapons. Also the PS Move/Sharpshooter support was awesome as well.

Pretty good game, just no one gave it a chance...

Is Resistance 1 and 2's online communities still active?
SaffronCurse  +   527d ago
Yeah they each have their one server up during peak times. R3's mp is also active since I play it regularly. Honestly...such underrated games.
kenshiro100  +   527d ago
Agreed. I have all three games.
DigitalRaptor  +   527d ago
This was pretty underrated.

I think they should put this on PS+ so more people would give it a go.
one of best fps's of this gen, not kidding, soooo underrated, so many games could learn from this one.

KingofGambling  +   527d ago
I'm hoping Sony would convince Insomniac to continue with this franchise. Maybe Resistance Rise of Men for the PS4.
Fringe_Agent13  +   527d ago
I like this game but Resistance 2 mp was waaaay better. I had a hell of a lot of fun with the 30 v. 30. It was hilarious. lol
SaffronCurse  +   527d ago
The 8 player coop was the true star in R2.
Fringe_Agent13  +   526d ago
That was definitely fun too!
Rhezin  +   527d ago
Ahh man this just makes me want Resistance 4 even more now...
