Its output has been described as "sick, deluded and beneath contempt" and banned for its "casual sadism". Now the head of the company that designed Grand Theft Auto, the video game in which players kill policemen, take part in drug deals and visit prostitutes, has condemned his critics as the same kind of people who complained about Elvis Presley gyrating his hips in the 1950s.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is an important game for Rockstar, not least because it was the first title in the franchise to use the newly created RAGE engine.
when will ignorant idiots like hilary clinton or jack thompson learn that rockstar focuses on making these games for the older market? this is a game for MATURE audiences. enforcement of rules and regulations are to blame. if kids are out there shooting others or what have you, they would have done so, regardless if they played the game or not. if you are a parent who's got no idea of what your child is playing or involved in and then place the blame on a product, take a good look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if you really are doing your job as a parent.
GTA is for a mature audience. Well, sorry, but i don't find the content of GTA in any way mature, quite the contrary. Are you suggesting that it's wrong for kids to go round shooting cops and dealing drugs, but it's ok for 'mature' people to do this?? I just don't understand this whole mature argument. In fact, may i assert that it's the mature people that Won't be playing GTA exactly because of the content! Rockstar's view is 'it's only a game' thereby releasing them from any social responsibility whatsoever.Make no mistake about it people, Rockstar are in it to make huge amounts of money regardless of consequence. And if you are naive enough to believe this game isn't intentionally aimed at teenagers, then i question your judgement.I would like for some 'mature' person to please explain why they consider the content of GTA appropriate for a video game.My argument is not whether is should or should not be banned, but rather, why there is a market for such a game in the first place. Finally, i ask Rockstar, how much of the undoubted millions of dollars they will make from this game will be donated to combat the very same issues that they so lovingly create in their so called 'game'? Enjoy the game if you must, but please stop calling it mature, it isn't!
