BLACKBIBLE3818d ago

3 years of hard work. LOL. I'm a member of the media dude this was our review units and it was a gift for them to add our names.

Free personalized PS4's to journalists who then will be reviewing the system? Wow... I guess people don't care about ethics in journalism anymore.

From NYU School of Journalism:

"Journalists generally should not accept any gifts from sources or from the
subjects of their stories. Sometimes sources will send tokens of their appreciation
after the fact, which is to say after publication. Every media outlet has its own
policy on accepting such gifts. At the Department of Journalism, students will be
asked to return all such tokens, if possible, if worth more than $25. If abroad in
cultures where refusing hospitality could be interpreted as rudeness, it may be
permissible to accept food, private lodging and/or small tokens of affection or
gratitude. Similarly, in some cultures (Japan, for example) it is appropriate for a
reporter to present a small gift to a source before the interview starts, especially if
the interview is being conducted in the source's home. As always, use common
sense."

Thantalas3818d ago

@AndrewLB. You are not wrong in having questions about this issue, however the difference is that in this case these 'gifts' are actually used for writing console & game reviews in the same way a book reviewer for a newspaper requires a copy of the book to review it. It just happens to be the case that many bloggers and journos love what they are reviewing.

Ultimately gaming media get all their games for free for review purposes but not all games get tops scores - which is what we'll see when the PS4 & XB one scores are revealed. What you can infer from this is that most journalists can be trusted [hopefully] to write honest reviews.

is there a "plastic cover" sticking initially to the glossy top of the PS4?

as i can see they are somewhat very prone to scratches...

$10 bucks on PSN...

I know it's not much, but that's something I love. I honestly thought NA was getting ignored with the extras department.
