GameZone writes, "With LucasArts now closed, the studio's former employees are now turning elsewhere to fill their game creation needs. Matt, a Star Wars 1313 designer who worked heavily on the impressive E3 2012 demo, and Tim, a systems designer on Star Wars: First Assault, have teamed up to develop a new retro side-scrolling strategy game that takes place in a multi-layered, 3D world set in Ancient Rome."
Josh Griffiths writes: "SeaCliff Interactive raised $41,909 for Super Roman Conquest, a pittance compared to how much most games cost. For a studio comprised of former LucasArts developers, that might as well be pocket change. It’s hard to imagine much of that cash still remains in their coffers almost four years on, even with studio employees taking on day jobs."
Cliqist investigates the the abandoned development of Super Roman Conquest, crowdfunded through Kickstarter by SeaCliff Interactive.
The closure of LucasArts studios earlier this year brought about a great deal of pain for not only fans of the games they produced, but also for Matt Boland, former designer for the cancelled Star Wars 1313.
