Kotaku: "Remember how popular Monster Hunter was on the PSP in Japan? And how it became a system seller for the Sony hardware? And how the PSP was pretty much the machine Japanese people used to play Monster Hunter? Remember that?"
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate has been discounted to $16.33 on 3DS and $19.79 on Wii U. Also on sale are Monster Hunter 4 ($28.99) as well as the upcoming Monster Hunter Generations ($31.99 for Amazon Prime members).

When Monster Hunter gets made for a non-Nintendo console I'll be more interested. I'd be much happier with a PS4/Xbone version with fully integrated online play.
We have moved on to bigger and better things.
There are like 5-6 far better replacements anyway , they just obviously wont be as popular .
point is , fans of the genre arent left hanging , unless they only want Monster Hunter .
EDIT : no surprise there but lol at disagrees . I do find stuff like Ogre eater , Toukiden , Soul sacrifice far more interesting .. i just would never expect it to beat MH' popularity , and they are still from the same genre for those that care .
"Now, no. We're only thinking about getting the game in lots of 3DS owners' hands and having it become a hit." - Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto
It's still possible. I think they're going to wait till Monster Hunter on the 3DS becomes a hit. Maybe they're just focused on the more popular system first, making it perfect for it then moving on to the Vita.
The thing is, Monster Hunter NEVER sold better on Nintendo consoles and most jrpgs that are on both Vita and 3DS sell better on Vita.
The install base isn't about numbers, it's about WHO is the install base and what they demand for. Capcom is making a huge error.....again.
