That Awe-Inspiring New World Feeling in an MMO – Is It Even Possible Anymore?

GeekParty's Jake Valentine writes: "I started out at level 1 in games like TERA, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Guild Wars 2 with nothing to my name but crappy default gear. Yet when I leveled up and got my super awesome fantastic quest rewards, I never entirely drooled over them; I just grabbed the appropriate piece of gear and continued with my grinding." (EverQuest Next, Guild Wars 2, PC, Star Wars:The Old Republic, TERA, World of Warcraft)

I think it is only possible for those who haven't gamed all that much or have yet to touch an MMORPG. I searched for that special feeling from time to time and it just doesn't exist anymore.

Agreed. Unless someone can find a way to make the journey better than the goal, then the joy of getting a +5 stam +2 strength belt is over.
