'Witcher 3' devs "don't believe in selling extra content"

Examiner: "In an industry where paid downloadable content seems pretty standard, at least on the console side, it's a little rare to see developers flat out state that they hate charging for content. CD Projekt Red's game director, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, took some time to talk with Examiner about the studio's upcoming title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, in an interview that will be fully published on Wednesday. Yeah I hear that and it sounds like CDP is rather keen on only doing major expansions, which is great. But wow, hope they give us a year before adding to what is already going to be a massive game lol. This game looks sweet!

Costs money for bigger development teams. Its the only reason they released Witcher 2 for the X360 console. Now Witcher 3 is coming to PS4 as well as XB1.

That's right! The Witcher 3 will be the first (of the series) on PS4. Those Playstation owners who have never played The Witcher are in for a treat.

I'm in the same boat. These guys are just awesome. Too many times have I bought games feeling like content has been cut later to be sold as dlc. For this reason alone I'll be buying W3

Never bought a dlc , i didn't even play the big GTA dlc's , it doesn't feel right and out of the game story. Maybe that will be changed with the last of us and GT6 ..

Ahh that just made me nostalgic, when the developers actually finish their games, tested their games fully, and sold the final product to us finished, and everybody had access to the same content when play online those were great times to play

This company is also ANTI DRM. Great stance from a big time company that actually cares about the products it makes and the consumers buying them.

DLC has to give one hour of gameplay for every € put in to it.
So 10€ dlc has to last for 10 hours.

CD ProjektRED just became my favorite dev company. Awesome series like the Witcher AND free DLC? What more can one ask for?

I really hope it becomes the norm in the game industry to receive all but the most extraordinary DLC for free if you purchase within the first couple of months of release. It really stinks that the people who pay the most retail cost for a game get nickel'd and dime'd for all the extras where-as the late comers often get all the bells and whistles plus a reduced price.

Great dev. The Witcher games are epic and Cyberpunk 2077 trailer was awesome so looking forward to hearing more about that title.
