Gearbox: Game Ads Done Right

Gearbox CEO and president Randy Pitchford writes:

"I'd like to take the time to shed more light on the announcement that Gearbox and Double Fusion are partnering to consider connecting advertising with our games. Some gamers have voiced their concern, and I want to set the record straight about this announcement.

We respect any contempt for exploitive advertising that negatively effects the integrity or the quality of the game because we, as hardcore gamers, share that same contempt. If anything, that's a big understatement. I'll say it again: We hate exploitive advertising that doesn't offer value to the gamer."

Brothers in Amrs and Earned in Blood were brilliant. The amount of passion that went into them by Gearbox, who was then a young company, was incredible. The franchise just died after that which is sad. Hell's Highway just wasn't made with the same passion. And let's not talk about the cancelled BiA4, that looked so wrong on so many levels.

Some Easter eggs and secrets aren’t actually that hard to find. Sometimes they are even connected to achievements or trophies in-game, making them very easy to locate. But some secrets are much harder to find and honestly make me wonder how anyone ever finds these things.
