Capcom released new screenshots from Monster Hunter 4.

these are bad images of it. I've seen better ones elsewhere and mh3u looks better than these...from videos I've seen it actually looks really good on 3DS.

Obviously never as good as it would on Vita but still good for the system.

Capcom has a contract with Nintendo for MH games. The deal was for three years, but i don't remember when the three years started.

But 3ds sales for the 3ds mh3u is far worst than the Psp Version of mh freedom unite and mh portable 3rd. Means it sucks. It really sucks to begin with. and these is nothing new either.

Actually, the PSP was out far longer and had a much bigger user base in Japan when P3rd and FU came out. And P3rd and FU were original entries.

Tri 3DS is a port of a game that MH fans have already sunk dozens, if not hundreds of hours into.

Just some insight into why it sold less.

@Blacklash93 But I can't see the sales for mh3u in 3ds improving. Even if it was a port. handheld experience for these kind of games is much better. Many of the MH fans came from Sony so most of the one who plays MH did not played MH tri in Wii.

I knew it wasn't going to look amazing on the 3DS but I honestly can barely make some of those images out. Especially the dark ones you literally see no detail on the characters armor, weapons or the monsters.

This Capcom exclusivity is dumb, this would have been 1000x better on the PS Vita, PS3 or the Wii U. Sure it will look a little better on the 3DS screen but still it looks pretty bad overall.

It will still sell boatloads on 3DS no doubt. So why care about getting the most out of your games? Just get the most cash out of them is all that matters. That seems to be the trend these days.

This appears to be living proof, not as if Capcom hasn't shown that enough over the years. Just makes no sense why this is only on the 3DS..

They can port Resident Evil but Capcom's excuse for this was, they made it for the 3DS first... Or is it the fact you are signed to a contract you aren't willing to speak about for legal reasons? That sounds much more likely, why beat around the bush just come out and say it.

... and here comes all disagrees. God forbid sometimes you want things to just make a little sense in this world and not always be about money.

Stop complaining that it's not coming to the Vita. I can't imagine any Vita owner would buy Monster Hunter after Soul Sacrifice. That's like playing Just Cause 2...then, getting excited for a bad port of the first Just Cause.

why all the butthurt i don't get it..first it was like who needs monster hunter we have soul sacrifice thats all ya where saying.. almost a month later nuthing spectacular happened with the game(good game but not a killer app as foretold)...you go back to the same song...

mh would be better on vita cuz graphics are better..

Wow, those textures are flatter than Paper Mario. I wish the 3DS didn't have 3D, it's just not powerful enough.

There is no reason the game has to look this bad on the same console that ran RE:Revelations perfectly fine. It looks even worse than the PSP entry, which was on a system about 2-3 times less powerful.

It seems to be the issue with modern day games when it comes to prioritising between having great raw graphics and having good-looking effects. They sacrificed polys and texture resolution just to have depth of field and bloom all over. People who have played games like Far Cry 3 on consoles should know what i'm saying. Depth of field sometimes decreases the framerate by 5-10 fps, and honestly it isn't really necessary, especially not if it means sacrificing the rest of the graphics quality.
