Don't buy these electronics used

Electronics are expensive and expendable, making them likely candidates for resale if someone's looking for quick cash. But most should be avoided unless you're buying from a reputable dealer who's willing to include a warranty that covers the risks.

Not only do you have defects that might not surface immediately but you have consoles that may have been Live banned, modded or tampered with in some other way. Buying a 360 used is just a bad idea unless you can get it for $150 or less. At that price if it breaks you can still probably part it out and break even.

The Xbox 360 isn't on that list fpr the same reason the PS3 isn't. These are items that are too costly to repair and do not justify a purchase as used. If you buy a used 360 from a reputable retailer, you are protected against locked out consoles and defective hardware at delivery and some retailers even give a short warranty with the system. If they don't, you always have the 3 year warranty against 3 ring failures to fall back on. If you do have to send the xonsole in for repair and it costs money our of pocket, you pay a flat $150 fee and get a 1 year extended warranty on the console. The only time it sucks buying a 360 or even PS3 used is when you only save 10 or 20 bucks.

This list is really just common sense isn't it?
Are there really people out there dumb enough to need an article like this?

Oh and just because something has moving parts doesn't mean it's going to break down before you'd want to replace it anyway (in say 3-4-7 years). In electronics, if a product last pasts 1 year, it isn't likely to need repair until the expected life of the product is over or nearly over.
