The Witcher 3 Graphics Benefit from PS4, May Not Include New DualShock 4 Features – Quest Designer

"We recently interviewed CD Projekt RED, the developers of The Witcher series, and while our interview is yet to be published, we have some new information on the game. We asked Paweł Sasko, Quest Designer of the game, how the PlayStation 4 can prove to be beneficial in creating rich and believable characters." (PC, PS4, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Xbox One)

I wish we could get witcher 2 for ps3 or ps4
Skips  +   738d ago
The first one too.

Obviously Sony themselves are going to have to lead in DS4 features in their own titles before other companies are convinced as far as spending time/money bothering with it.

May Not Include New DualShock 4 Features
This why Sony should have made it a requirement. Another potential feature possibly wasted. ;)
ninjahunter  +   738d ago
New controller features are often mis-used. Like on the wii, look at the early titles, horrendous use of the wiis motion controls.
DA_SHREDDER  +   738d ago
Not include DS4 features?
_QQ_  +   738d ago
why does evrryone call it a touch screen, it is a touchpad, i don't think they will use the new controller features, not much benefit other than a another button.
Cirran  +   738d ago
What I wanna know is why they give the touchpad a resolution? Surely only a touchscreen would need a resolution. It could mean it ends up being revealed as a touchscreen at E3 or somthing.

too small for a touch-screen but too shiny for a simple touch-pad.

they need to assign a resolution to the touchpad, that will define the precision of it, so were you touch on the pad it will reflect on the screen.
Arai  +   738d ago
It has a resolution of 1920 x 900, which enables for almost 1:1 tracking.
They could use it for UI navigation for example.
For such a small pad the resolution is rather impressive.
How it's used and/or integrated is anyone's guess.
We'll have to wait and see how Sony implement it.

Hope that helps...

I have wondered about the resolution thing for 2 months now.
Cirran  +   738d ago
@Arai Makes alot of sense and helps muchly. Thank you.
FamilyGuy  +   738d ago
All touch pads have a resolution, check out the detailed specs of any laptop to see it's touch pad resolution.

Wrong thread sorry.

The ds4's touchpad is just like something you would find on a laptop. It will be pretty useful when web browsing or when needing a pointer.

They should do a Witcher Enhanced/ Witcher 2 Ps4 Bundle
Jaqen_Hghar  +   738d ago
why would a company bundle a game that's never been on their platform and probably doesn't have many people that would buy said bundle? There should be a Witcher and Witcher 2 collection for PS4 but not bundled. The only game I see getting bundled is KZ or Knack
Transporter47  +   738d ago
Guess i miss used the word bundle, i just meant they should bundle those two games together like god of war collection, zone of enders hd, hitman hd. like that that's what i meant, wrong phrasing i suppose

ah. A man agrees then. A man would love to try this series out but isn't going to invest in a PC just to play the Total War series and Elder Scrolls Online when it comes out along with this and Day Z.
Ashlen  +   738d ago
Looking forward to it.

What i wanna know is how useful can the Move be for RTS games? If someone can take advantage of that to get a good scheme going for it then that'll be awesome. Maybe blizzard can do it for SC2?.

OT: They probably dont too much about its capabilities yet.

As a long time sc2 and sc1player i can say that thing is way too small plus the lack of hotkeys would be a problem. I wouldn't get my hopes up for a game like SC2 or DOTA2 to come to consoles unless it is the steam box.

edit:sorry i thought you said touchpad, as for the move, you would need an unrealistically steady hand to use it like a mouse, plus the hotkey problem.

I have SC2 but i dont play it much cause i'm usually on my ps3 or playing Dota when i am on my PC. I know M/K will always be best for RTS and MOBA games but i was just wondering aloud to see if its possible.
Skate-AK  +   738d ago
Have you heard of R.U.S.E? It's a RTS with move support. Maybe you could try that.
Minato-Namikaze  +   737d ago
I have heard of it but havent kept up on it. i'll check it out thanks.
BitbyDeath  +   738d ago
DS4 touchpad will probably be better for RTS games than move.
DaThreats  +   738d ago
Title is misleading about the controller
Rockefellow  +   738d ago
Most of the "features" built into the new Dualshock work on an operating system level-- the developer doesn't need to implement anything special, as it's inherently available to all games.
mochachino  +   738d ago
I fullt expected to use the trackpad for web browsing mostly. If games use it all the better - even if a press is just for a fast and quick game save.
