EA calls Videogamer.com's cancelled Dead Space story a 'fabrication'

EA’s Peter Moore has rubbished claims by website Videogamer.com that Dead Space 4 had been cancelled following poor sales of Dead Space 3.

Earlier this week website Videogamer.com published a story which claimed that “EA has ceased development on Dead Space 4 and effectively axed the series following lower than anticipated sales of Dead Space 3.” The writer David Scammell claimed to have learnt the information from an ‘unnamed source.’ (Dead Space, Industry, PS3, Xbox 360)

And EA always tells the truth. /s

'Shoddy journalism', as Peter Moore calls it, or publisher back-pedalling?

Frankly, could be either. Both are especially prevalent in the industry today.

True that. Wait a minute why did it take a whole day for the part 2 of this to hit N4G? I saw this about 24 hours ago. :P It's definitely newsworthy I'm just saying tho.. Long live Dead Space

considering how much Journalism around the games industry is just rumour at the moment I wouldn't put it too far from the first of the options

Why? Dead Space left scary behind. Now it's just not the same it's to much action.

Is EA your mom? Did she charge you for your micro transitions dinner service? Anyway, this is obvious damage control of EA.

Fact remains that DS3 didn't sell the 5 million needed to keep the franchise afloat. So there's probably still some truth to it.

Better they focus those resources on Mirrors Edge 2 anyway.

It would be a shame if EA did go through with Dead Space 4.
DS3 was such a let down and the reception of the news of DS4's cancellation should be evidence enough that the Dead Space series has reached an end when it comes to fans concerns.

i saw the article, but didn't click on it - from what people who read it were saying, it was a misleading article, and dead space 4 hadn't actually been canceled.

God damn it.
I just wasted my money on pitchforks and torches for everyone on n4g so we could hunt EA.
You mean a gaming website with their crack team of ahem....journalists got it wrong? Say it ain't so!

Hope you enjoyed the hits fellas (you didn't get mine).
