"Homicide detectives in Orange County, CA are investigating if a series of killings, that claimed four lives, were inspired by the Grand Theft Auto series."
In other news investigators are wasting their time.
They have to have something to talk about over donuts and coffee.
After he shot himself in the head, I wonder if he lost all his weapons and some money, but miraculously awaken in front of the local hospital?
Then pulled out his phone, punched a few numbers in and got in the Ferrari that spawned in.
Ferrari? I just spawn my black hawk, weapons and go back to causing trouble. Lol
Every crime could be tied to gta....just like every war could be tied to bf or mw. Every fight to sf or every guy who kills turtles to mario.....let blames video games for all the crimes that idiots commit. That should lower the crime rate.....smh
Better yet... Ban video games as a whole and the crimes across the world will disappear.... I swear the news and media ... really are pathetic.
Banning or even censoring games would have a worse effect than Obama's gun legislation. IT'LL BE 1776 ALL OVER AGAIN.
^ yip, we live in a world of excuses. Everything gets blamed except the idiots that do the crap, and the fools that raised them!
First off, i live local here to where this nut was and also the ex cop Dorner, that just went on that killing spree. Word of advice detectives, STOP wasting your frikin time! Go after the pharm companies, if you wanna get down to the bottom of things! Also, the money hungry Doctors, that are prescribing these unstable nuts meds! Funny, there is never any mention of this! Instead, lets go after the guns and the games! It takes a certain type of deranged person to do something like this. Add a little meds to the mix and there ya go! We can go back as far as their childhood if we want, maybe they were tired of being bullied and got depressed, saw their doctor, put the kid on meds, steals his irresponsible parents shotgun, and there we have it. Here detective, why not investigate the school and the irresponsible parents, along with the doctor who gave the kid drugs! Comon, its right there infront of your face! Everyone out here is on meds! Feel depressed or have anxiety? Here take this, you may now start thinking about actually killing yourself, but it will make you feel better for the time being. You couldnt pay me to take presription drugs! Ive seen too many people do weird shit or die on that stuff! Its a very sad world these days. I wish i could construct a time machine and go back to the 80s, where this kind of crap was pretty much unheard of and everyone wasnt walking around in a daze high on hardcore meds! Stick to pot and booze kids, youd be better off!
How about we blame the damn people and not videogames!
Or the people in the video games!!! /s They will never ban video games. Kazuo Hirai is the leader of a secret ninja clan that has existed in a shroud of mystery for centuries. Few people know of this. If they even think about banning video games, Kaz will save us. EDIT: OH yeah, I forgot. This just in; That kid is F***ing UGLY!!
When I first read an article about what this dude did, I thought... thats like GTA... BUT, guess what? GTA DID NOT influence him to do anything.
The investigators are now clutching at straws and seeing what they WANT to see.. "A videogamer and a loner" they say? Wow, then they link that to GTA?
What happens if all that time he spent playing games it was really a sick obsession with Angry Birds on his Ipad?
Sad article where innocent people have died, but for crying out loud, stop this video game witch hunt!
I blame his parents. There, I said it.
His parents may to be blame, but he may also be a psychopath...hard to blame them for a deranged mind unless their abuse helped to create it. Blaming his parents at this stage is a little like blaming video games or movies, yet another passing of the buck from the individual responsibe. Even if he was raised badly, plenty of other people have came from abusive backgrounds and not gone on murdering sprees.
Thats true, but mental health problems are diagnosable at a young age..
Actually, serious instabilities from maybe 6-12, its tricky between 13-21 but over 21 its easy. Things like Bipolar or Unipolar disorder or general dysfunctional behavior would only take a few visits and sometimes a few tests to check.
I do not believe in medicating people unless its impossible to normalise them by every other method..
but Im guessing this guy had issues.. that were unresolved. Its Parents job to ensure their kids get treatment if their unstable etc.
EDIT: I am a Psychologist.. and I dont see a link between GTA and this crime at all. I think when he shot that women in his parents home he got desperate and when he fled and realised he stood no chance in escaping the authority, he behaved like a desperate selfish cruel person. He probably had an untreated disassociative disorder, maybe he was in a manic stage of Bipolar disorder. Its hard to gauge with the little info, but I can almost guerentee GTA was not the blame but an underlying psychological disorder was.
Parents play a huge role a lot of the time. Whether not acknowledging a problem. Or irritating the hell out of a kid and driving them crazy. There is a reason such a large number of porn stars come from strict religious households.
I blame Luigi and I think I have a case.
I normally say the cops and politicians are reaching or dodging blame on things like this. But when I read this story GTA was the first thing I thought of. There is no doubt crazy is the main cause. But GTA may have been on his mind after he finally lost it.
I didn't know GTA was the only game that you can do all those things 0__o lol.. That just shows GTA is the most known game which makes them more popular .. nice marketing strategy ;) xD .. No on told him to play games oh well life goes on
They can't help it. All the media sees is red & blue, maybe that's why games are painted the wrong picture. lol
