Most Wanted Next-Gen: F.E.A.R. 4

Across three major releases, the F.E.A.R. franchise has not only provided waves of bullets, explosions, and even mechanized death-machines, but also offered up genuine scares courtesy of one little red-dressed girl named Alma Wade. Dammit, why are pale-faced, stringy-haired dead girls so terrifying? Let's take a look at the series thus far and identify why F.E.A.R. 4 is one of OnlySP's most wanted games for the upcoming next generation of consoles. (F.E.A.R., F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, F.E.A.R. 3, Monolith, Next-Gen, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment)

Deff want to see more Fear in the future. It'll be interesting to see who develops it as Day1 assimilated into wargaming.net

Yes, but more like FEAR 1 and 2, less like 3.

Personally I would rather have a next-gen Condemned, but F.E.A.R would be fine.

The two!And bring back the Monolith for development!

Oh man Condemned 3 would be righteous. Fear can only get better with next gen power as well.

If it's more like the first game then I'm all for it..

Fear 3 sucked so hard. It needs to be revived.

Fear 1 and its expansions were excellent.

Fear 2 was crap.

Fear 3 seemed like it would probably be crap, though I never played it myself.

Unless the game played and felt like the original, I really wouldn't care what they did with the series.

Monolith seems to be very good at making excellent original ips, with extremely lackluster follow-ups. On the other hand, they are rather good at handling sequels for other developer's games.
Weird.

The very first F.E.A.R. game was intense I couldn't believe the graphics, the dismemberment the eeriness of knowing that something was watching you.

F.E.A.R. 2 was good but it was nowhere near like the first one. Something about those tight corridors of the first game just made it even more creepier. ;)

I say bring on F.E.A.R. 4

I literally just received a pre-owned (yes MS!) copy of Fear 2 for my PS3 as I missed this series 1st time around...I have read Fear 1 is the best, but I jumped straight in at 2, and I've been advised to steer clear of 3 as it is action, less scares...true?

Yes, F.E.A.R. 3 was more action and less scares, but I still enjoyed it more than the second game. I found 3 to be more visually disturbing as far as some of the imagery was concerned. If you can get your hands on the first one, it is by far the best. Either way, enjoy them! It's a great series.

@SuddenFearXYU >Thanks for your reply :)

Fear 1 ...does it have trophies?..have the graphics aged badly? ....Fear 3 is it scary at all? ...or is it military heavy now? Sorry for 100 questions...

...many reviews state fans of the 1st two will be disappointed as it is not scary anymore...like Resi 6 (which I actually thought was okish) is action heavy.

* I am playing Fear 2 now (curtains drawn, Dolby 7.1) and have just reached the Hospital level...it is scary, there is a spooky lil girl looks just like the girl from the Ring Movie lol ...and for an older game, it still looks cool. So many awesome games to catch up on...I guess I been buying mainly mainstream titles is why I only just discovered how good Fear 2 is ;)

As far as I know, the first F.E.A.R. game has trophies. The graphics will probably be a little rough around the edges. However, it will be forgivable, as the story is awesome and the game is scary - moreso than the second one.

F.E.A.R. 3 is definitely a bit more run-n-gun, but as the article states, that's kind of in the spirit of the whole franchise. While it might not be as scary, the "horror" theme is still there with tons of disturbing imagery. Also, the third game is far more polished (graphics, sound, gameplay, etc) than the previous two.

If you're already playing F.E.A.R. 2, make sure to play the first one before moving onto the third. The first and second sort of tie together to set up the event of F.E.A.R. 3. Also, there are a couple of DLC missions for the first game that add a bit to the experience.

Hope that helps. Enjoy!

only if it's more like the original or 2nd game, the 3rd was just terrible to me.
