Most Wanted Franchise Comebacks

Dealspwn writes: Maybe it’s seeing Stallone and Arnie back in the cinemas recently that has me feeling nostalgic and hankering for the good old days. I even had a good root through some of my older games that I’d packed into the attic. Or perhaps I can’t blame it on the return of the aging action stars, it’s more likely to be the amount of kickstarter campaigns for retro game reboots, studio closures, stagnating sequels and brand retirements that made me think about what games from years gone by could lift gaming out of this over-familiar slump in which it finds itself.

"Specifically a follow-up to the 2008 game please. No, wait! Come back! Admittedly, this is something of a personal choice, as this game never properly finished its story. A fantastic -and brave- ending to the main game left me stunned, but ready to accept it as final."

I know right

I was like "he chose to save her despite covering the world in darkness", most game hero's would just do the noble choice and let their love interest go for the sake of mankind but not the Prince.

I just loved it when you saw that scene of him carrying her while Ahriman is coming towards them in the background

"What is one grain of sand in the desert?...What is one grain of sand in the storm?"

Not a bad list... lots of good stuff there.

I'll add...

Star Wars Battlefront
Crimson Skies
Shenmue
F-Zero
Kid Icarus (console comeback)
Syphon Filter
Suikoden

Ooh, yeah Battlefront for sure. I never played Shenmue as I missed the DC. And now I don't want to get hooked on something that may never be finished, like bloody Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. Get the feeling I'm missing out though.

If sony want their games to be more successful on pc and to sell more they need to bring the games day-one like helldivers 2! , and not after 2 years.

-Foxtrot3h ago

If it's first party (can't speak on Helldivers) then the PS5 should be focused on first in my opinion rather than worrying about 2 versions.

PrinceOfAnger3h ago

Nixxes can help with the development and release the games at the same time..

Tacoboto9m ago

Nixxes takes completed code and ports that to PC. I'm sure they do work during primary development but I like this setup.

PS5 owners are treated as first class by their platform holder, PC players get the final complete version, and GaaS are treated separately. Win-win.

XiNatsuDragnel3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

First party ps5 games need to be ps5 only until 6 months imo because they need to sell consoles still and then focus on PC later.

shinoff21833h ago

I don't see a big deal. The sales also help future development. I'm all in.

thesoftware7301h ago

This makes sense, just now doing it shows how behind and short-sighted regarding PC they were to begin with.

shaenoide51m ago

If they release it day one many will not buy a playstation anymore (me included).
