DualShockers Review: Crimson Shroud

DualShockers Writes:"Crimson Shroud from developer Level-5 is an example of a little game that packs a big punch. Although it sports a tiny price tag of just $8, it is a legitimate JRPG featuring a concise 6+ hour campaign and a rich, addictive combat system. Part of the developer’s acclaimed Guild01 project, this Yasumi Matsuno headed gem is a highlight of the eShop and an excellent pick-me-up for even jaded genre fans.

Crimson Shroud presents the unique premise of being inspired by old-school tabletop RPGs. Because I’m unfamiliar with the genre, I can’t say with certainty whether or not it warrants that comparison. What I am sure of is that the game involves lots and lots of dice rolling."

Right there with ya. Hope to hear anything about a ni no kuni non mobile game. Please level 5 i beg

jznrpg166d ago (Edited 166d ago )

Would love a Ni No Kuni 3 or whatever they want to call it. But like you said I want nothing to do with mobile and I am hoping for a console game. Also interested in other games they have to offer on console. I also saw you are playing Star Ocean remake on universal difficulty and I’m doing the same and near the end. Messing around in Fun City atm to try and delay the end a bit hehe. Such a great game

Quite prolific, looking at the anticipated lineup. Decapolice has been on my radar.

For the love of God, Dark Cloud 3 before I shuffle off the mortal coil, please

Dark Cloud 3 please!!! 🙏🙏🙏 😭

It seems Level-5 is looking to make a return to the west

Level-5, the studio behind the Ni No Kuni and Yo-Kai Watch franchises, stopped operating outside of Japan as their North American business closed as it scaled back in late 2020.

Level 5's business model is to make a hit TV show and then milk it.
Nice when it works, but not so good when they can't make a hit TV show.

Relientk77465d ago

Awesome news! Level 5 made so many great games: Dark Cloud 1 & 2, Rogue Galaxy, Dragon Quest VIII, Ni No Kuni, etc. I can't wait to see what games they make next.

GoodGuy09465d ago

What's been happening with these guys since like...ni no kuni 2 lol.

RedDevils1285d ago (Edited 1285d ago )

Ni no Kuni 2 imo is the bottom of my list for top Level 5 games.
Dark Cloud 1/2
Dragon Quest VIII
Rogue Galaxy,
White Knight Chronicles
Ni no Kuni
Pro Layton series
