Traditions are an integral part the holiday season. Trimming the tree, spending time with family, last minute shopping, and arguing for religious validation through corporate advertising are just some of the things we all put up with with this time of year. But what do these traditions have in common? They all suck.
The undue stress we put ourselves through completely takes a crap on what should be a joyful time of year. We want to put the awesome back in Xmas, 8Bit Proof style. While it may be tough to recapture the joy of unwrapping a brand new game console while wearing footy pajamas, we’ve done our part to make this season bright. So spike the eggnog, throw on an ugly sweater, and go wassail your ass off. It’s time for some new traditions. This episode features:
Based on one narratively fitting ending in Mass Effect 3, Prothean squadmate Javik is highly unlikely to return in the next Mass Effect game.
He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?
Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown rebooted the series back in 2012, and has since inspired numerous new strategy game series to be born.
If someone gets into this I'd recommend getting the enemy within version. It's got all the dlc included so it's the better version. Wish the author would've atleast mentioned it. I didn't see it.
Fantastic game though. Xcom 2 is top notch also. I've spent countless hours in these games.
