This generation of gaming has given the developers the opportunity to extend the life of their games via the concept of downloadable content. Downloadable content, or DLC, comes in various forms. The first and most important is in the form of extending single and multi-player experiences. How many times have you completed a single player game and put it aside because there is nothing else to explore? Or with multiplayer games, how many times have we played the same map? With DLC, developers have the ability to create new playable content which is a breath of new life to their games. Some single player DLC ranges from exploring new dungeons to playing with a new character. As for multiplayer games, map packs are the greatest advantage to DLC. From the launch of Call of Duty to the next launch in the entry, gamers have the ability to continue playing their favorite multiplayer game because of map packs. This is the best case scenario of utilizing DLC for the benefit of us, the gamers.

Another entitled gamer who doesn't know how DLC works.
Do gamers not understand the purpose of DLC?
This guy acts like he has an idea what goes on in the business. Terrible, terrible writing.
I think they knew from the start the purpose . It's apologists back in the day , that wanted to believe otherwise , and used the "if you dont like it dont buy it" excuse .
Now it's not working as intended as more and more content get thrown as dlc eh ? And you gotta act happy and grateful when you are getting for free stuff that were there in most ps2 era games lol .
the only DLC i hate is console exclusive or store exclusive.
