The Independent: "Creative characters, ground-breaking design and 48 toys to collect, but does Skylanders Giants represent value for money this Christmas?"
It's a corporate bastardization of Spyro. They should've just left Spyro out of it. His inclusion exposes the series as a complete cash cow. And god, the franchising. Absolute consumer bullsh!t. I don't care how good the game might be, the fact that it has any pretense at all of being a Spyro game is just offensive.
Spyro hadn't done anything in years and years, if anything, Skylanders brought Spyro back into peoples thoughts. The game was absolutely fantastic, and if you're a collector of gaming like I am, you loved collecting the different characters. I don't see a problem with it in the least. Activision is a business, just like all business they are out to make money, that doesn't mean we can't or don't get a quality product.
Totally agree Chunky. What has Spyro done besides make his comback with this hit game? @-Gespenst- "His inclusion exposes the series as a complete cash cow. " To who? The kids that it's aimed at? What child remembers Spyro? If anything you should be thanking Activision for reviving his carrer in the video game industry. "Absolute consumer bullsh!t. " What child toy/product isn't? In fact damn near every high AAA video game product is catered and played up to the consumer. Why does it feel like there are some people that haven't walked a day in their life?
