Guitar Hero IV this year

Guitar Hero IV will be released at the end of 2008, according to an unlikely press release from British band The Answer.

Its song "Never Too Late" will feature in the line-up, apparently, after being picked out at the Marché international de l'édition musicale (or Midem conference) held at the end of January.

More than 200 songs were submitted by music companies at the enormous industry trade fair, and Activision (plus experts) chose just 20 of them to appear in Guitar Hero IV.

Probably because you said you've never played it, or that it looked entertaining and they didn't think so. Who knows what people think? I do know that asking why you got disagrees nets you more disagrees, and me pointing that out will more than likely get me disagrees for the sake of it.

I dont get how you get to make sequels every year for this game. With DLC why on earth do people need to buy the game every year. Besides Rock band is the complete game that GH is lacking. Nothing against the game, but how do you release a new controller and game every year? Its like they figured out a way to one-up EA at putting out games every year.

One good thing is this means they both will be forced to make great games in an effort to one-up each other. Rock band and Skate were fresh additions which slapped Activison across the face. Though I dont care for any of those games really, but from what I tried and seen of both of those ea did a good job. Never thought Id say that.

Ironically, Treyarch was the one to get slapped both times on Activision's side. Once I knew Harmonix wasn't doing GHIII anymore and moving onto Rock Band, I knew that I'd make that move as well. Really as far as the Guitar Hero series goes there's not much more they can do that Rock Band hasn't done. Unless they allow you to build your own venues or add some crazy adventure mode, the series has hit its ceiling.

wow...EA...just wow...they really know how to milk a franchise. This is something to be expected of EA though. they always release new version of their games every year. with downloadable content you would think GH3 would of been the last and they would just put new songs up for download..or at least waited a few years but i guess not.

Sucks. That's just my opinion though. I'm a big GH fan and MUCH prefer that to RB. I was really excited for RB too...until I played it. Such a letdown and it really isn't as much fun, IMO, as playing solo in GH.

I really don't understand why people love this game so much, I'll much rather play Rock Band, and or Sing Star... they seem to have a wider variety of songs.

Wasn't it really expected? It's an Activision game and a huge cash cow. Why wouldn't they release it? Actually, I believe they'll soon start changing names of GH games to Guitar Hero 2008, 09 and such just like EA titles.
