Next-gen WWE game in the works, will be released in two years, new consoles at E3 2013
WWE ’13 senior producer Arnaud Frey has seemingly let out a few tidbits about the future of the franchise as well as new consoles.
(Next-Gen, PS3, WWE 13, WWE '14, Xbox 360)
No offense but I'm sick and tired of people jumping the bandwagon about how Nintendo 64 WWE games were amazing. There great, I'll give you that but I'll name 2 games that blows No Mercy & Wrestlemania 2000 away.
WWE Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain (PS2) WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2006
I myself have never had N64, but PS2 generation was amazing for WWE games. When they shifted to next-gen. They never improved the game engine really. They just pulled a Valve. Shifted a few assets ups to the new APIs and shine it up and that was about it.
HCTP and SVR 2006 were great games. I still go back to SVR 2006/2007 for my PS2 and they are still fun. I started up WWE 12 thinking wow this is going to be great they actually did something new and well they didn't. They did one thing. The scrapped the animations for the moves and redid them all so that they look fluid and clean. Changed up the AI a little. Played it a little while got bored and left it alone.
This article basically states we won't see next gen WWE game until WWE 15 in 2014. I hope TNA gets a new game license by then. Competition builds fan support. Right now there is none at all.
Why do people say No mercy was the best ? it isn't. most people who say that haven't even played the game.
Smackdown Here Comes The Pain is not only the best wrestling game i've ever played its one of the best games i've played ever.
Smackdown Here Comes The Pain had pretty much unlimited replay value and I still play it on my 60GB backwards compatible PS3 and its more fun than 90% of current gen games.
Probably because it was the first great wrestling game (A lot more options then Wrestlemania 2000) that most people played.
It also has to do with how great it was at that time. When I first found out I could bring the fight backstage, I was in awe. Had to show all my friends, even the ones that didn't watch wrestling.
so my prediction of fall 2014 launch for ps4 and xbox720 is right. I knew Fall 2013 is too early
ms and sony will follow what Nintendo did and have all the attention of them, at E3 2013, they will talk about new tech and stuff but than at E3 2014 they will actually show off what they have to offer at launch
Why? Why not say the same thing for Madden or Fifa games? Or NHL?

Me and my friends personally love WWE'12. Even if you don't watch wrestling the games are great fun and the replay value is far greater than most games out with the likes of custom arenas and superstars.
I agree. I HATE wrestling in real life. Rather, I hate the fans. :/ Wrestling is something people who like MST3K can watch and enjoy making fun of. :)
That being said, the games are very fun! WWE All-Stars was just like an old 3D arcade fighter. It was the most fun I've had with multi-player in a long time.
You can't just ignore games anymore. You have to hope they are never made so even the people who enjoy them can't do that.
Anyone want to sign my petition to get 98% of all shows on TV cancelled? I don't like them, so they must be done away with.

Seriously though, WWE games can be pretty fun even for non-wrestling fans. I was a fan of the games back in the PS1 era before I was a fan of wrestling. It was actually the games that made me into one.
im with you, i wonder who is the people buying this sorry-awful Wrestling games?? dont they know there are fighting games out there?? those WWE are so below of the quality standards but kids now days who feel WWE is so real are the ones who and buy the same game every 6 months
Heavily supported by 3rd parties probably, but I'd suspect Microsoft and Sony will shift most of their support to the new consoles. It only makes sense to do that. With all the hype The Last Of Us is getting, it'd probably be a huge advantage for Sony if it were a launch title for the PS4, I know its coming to the PS3, I was just using that as an example.
The reason we are seeing all of these AAA titles launch in the early part of 2013 is because titles for current consoles tend to take a backseat when it comes to new hardware/software.
I'm not going to waste time reading this article but speculating when a next gen game will come out isn't evidence of when next gen consoles will release. Does the article say this WWE game is a next gen launch title?
?? Why do people think because Sony publishes games on the PS3 that it means PS4 won't come out? Sony is not like MS or Nintendo, they support there systems LONG after they release another system.
Sony is very much not like other game publishers. So take this whole PS4 not coming out until 2014 out of your little mind.
I haven't played one of these games for over 7 years so I'm curious if it's still triangle to run then cross to clothesline? If it is then they really haven't changed much!
I hope they are building an engine from the ground up for next gen consoles and that for a change they put alot into the animation engine of the game and the physics. Another thing I want from a Next Gen WWE is there to bulid an engine that can handle 30 to 40 superstars on the screen at once.. A proper crowd should also be standard in next gen,heck 15 characters on screen should be current this gen Other most wanted features *Proper Season mode like Here comes the pain *General manager Mode *NXT season mode *WWE TOUR MODE *Every single exhibition match for the last 15 years including hell in a cell,street fights ect ect oh yeah and I dont want Yukes to make the game
I think ppl bring up the N64 wrestling games such as, WCW World Tour, WCW NWO Revenge, and Wrestlemania 2000. Because they were revatively easy to play and fun. It was simple to create wrestlers. THQ needs to make HD remakes of one of those games and put it on the arcade.
I'm starting to hate the WWE more now these days. THEY DON'T make CM PUNK THE MAIN EVENT and he's the WWE CHAMPION yet they use the IDIOT CENA main event. last night really sucks

holy crap these current/last gen ps3/360's have lasted longer on the market than vhs, and they are just as outdated
