Well its shipped one million, but how many were actually sold? Anyway it's been doing well, so that's good for X1. Killzone and DR3 are the best selling exclusives

AngelicIceDiamond3747d ago

Yeah congrats to Capcom for 1million shipped.

StealthPandemic3747d ago

What does "1 Million shipped" even mean? Did they sell a Million?

IRetrouk3747d ago

It just means that overall retailers have paid for a million copies.

Gabenbrah3747d ago

On VGChartz its at 800k, with digital sales, it may be 1 million, I doubt it but Forza 5 is actually the best selling XB1 exclusive at 950k units sold.

Studio-YaMi3747d ago (Edited 3747d ago )

Yeah nobody can dis this,it's a success for Capcom at first since they do need to get back on their feet, and a success for Microsoft for having a good exclusive at launch.

Congrats to both!

And for Xbox fans, just ignore the fanboys & trolls(on all sides),they get more damage control when you don't react.

mcstorm3747d ago

@Studio-YaMi I agree. Its good to see the exclusives do well on all 3 consoles. Ive not got this game yet but ill look to pickup This and Ryse at some point but at this moment I have too many games to get through and not enough time to get through them. Hate getting older lol.

lokirevamped3747d ago

I hope you know that shipped means sold for any company, now what that carrier sells is a different story.

@staticdash22
Nice stealth trolling!

As for Dead Rising 3 shipping a million, not bad numbers. Congrats to Capcom.

That game is brilliantly fun, I've spend so much time just ripping around on my steam roller/ motorbike with flamethrower combo vehicle just plowing through hundred of zombies. Good job capcom vancouver

Treezy5043747d ago

The key word today my friends is "shipped".

UncleGermrod3747d ago

once the units are shipped, capcom made their money. the rest is profit margin for the retailers. sure, it may not have reached 1 million consumers yet, but if they shipped that amount to date, it surely will. no need to be nit-picky and pessimistic.

VINNIEPAZ3747d ago

"no need to be nit-picky and pessimistic"

Thats part of there "charm"

famoussasjohn3747d ago

It's the same thing when Sonny announced they shipped 70 or 80 million consoles and that was fine.

Seems like the rules have changed since then and it must be overanalyzed how many were sold rather than shipped.

famoussasjohn3747d ago (Edited 3747d ago )

Double post for some reason.

jackanderson19853747d ago

they're also talking about retail versions only... digital sales are seemingly not counted.... surely digital sales would be easier to track than physicals, wonder why no-one has charted that yet

christocolus3747d ago

Dr3 is a really fun game and im glad they,ve achieved their sales target of 1m,i see the game doing another 1mill before the end of the year but its going to be hard with halo5, sunset oberdrive, watchdogs, mgs5,d4, quantum break, fable legends, titanfal and the other great games coming in this year. Good job capcom, good job..now bring us power stone.

What Happened To The Dead Rising Series?

Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.

Interesting timing. This retrospective was released just a few days ago: https://youtu.be/Et-cKSrWuc...

Darksonic221361d ago

Ah no, I just felt like writing it as I started playing the game again and wanted to offer up my opinions 😁

InklingGirl1360d ago

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the title.

MadLad1360d ago

Complacency and new teams who didn't understand what made the series special.

Darksonic221360d ago

Seems like there was just a ton of infighting aswell and so many more issues. Honestly sadly Dead Rising 5 before it was cancelled sounded nothing like dead rising, nothing learnt from. Dr4 at all.

ColdSin1360d ago

DR4 should have not been made anyways. DR3 closed everything nicely.

darthv721360d ago

Check out the vid i posted above.

MadLad1360d ago

They're a solid channel. I always click on their vids, unless it's a series/game I simply have no interest in.

RamRod881360d ago

They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.

DeadManMMX1360d ago

This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.

Gamerking821360d ago

But you never know it might be RISING again someday .

moriarty18891360d ago

haha yes it may....good one.

The Decade's Bizarre and Quirky Gaming News

VGChartz's Patrick Day-Childs: "2020 is upon us! The past decade has had some downs, like the influx of monetisation within full games, Blizzard's community backlash and EA winning the worst company in America award twice, but also some ups, like the leaps in understanding gaming from more mainstream companies to wholesome news like gamers helping preserve a controller signed by someone’s deceased mum.

The decade has also been the highlight of some… bizarre news, and I decided collect together some of the more obscure and quirky stories to make you giggle or question what the hell happened this decade."
