The Geek Link Episode 43: Firmed Up

This weeks episode we are short a couple of hosts, but sitting in with Smikey is Malcolm Spinedi of the Firmare Update podcast. The two agree that the new cover art for Bioshock Infinite looks an aweful lot like the box for another game. Both host are fans of comics, and as such they weigh in on the rumor that Joseph Gordon-Levitt may be taking up the cape and cowl of Batman in future movies. The Ouya is on track to meet its original ship date and that is promising for the upstart console. Malcolm and Smikey lament over the cover of the final issue of Nintendo Power. Assassins Creed may have co-op coming in a future installment. We gush over Bungie’s new game Destiny. Peter Molynuex may have finally learned his lesson from over hyping his games, but at what cost? All this and a hilarious Kickstarter of the Week on The Geek Link episode 43.

I had the LaserActive... it was a nice collectors piece but not very practical. Especially when it came to needing recapping. I think i paid all of about $50 for the floor model from an incredible Universe back in the day. I ended up selling it many years later for $300 at the time due to it needing a new laser and the aforementioned recapping.

An honorable mention not on the list would be the VM Labs Nuon. It basically looked like any regular DVD player but it had ports on it for controllers to play specific games. one of which is still exclusive to it with Tempest 3000. It also offered nuon enhanced DVD movies with extra content not accessible by regular players.
