Luftrausers is an arcade dogfighter game in which you shoot boats, jets, aircrafts and whatnots. A gamesession can variate between 30 seconds to 5 minutes (IF you got any luck surviving this long^^). It´s brutal, unforgiving, plain and simple but a hellish addicting game =)
GAMEPLAY
Simply put, you have to press 4 different buttons. And avoiding projectiles while flying. Oh and sometimes you needn´t to push a button or else you fly directly into another projectile xD But this depens on how you build up your aircraft. Bulky but slow with high firepower or fast with a melee body ala Kamikaze Joe? There are three different slots where you can choose your loadout: Weapon, Body and Engine. To discribe the gameplay of Luftrausers is a little hard so I put a playlist at the end of this review.
GRAPHICS
Graphics on the other hand are quite simple to discribe. 8-bit pixels with a stabile framerate of 30 FPS deliver fluid pictures of hate and enjoyment. Through unlockable color patterns the original 3-Color mode can be switched from psychodellic neon to simple black and grey and white. Every mode except the original made me puke and laugh at the same time but this lies in the eye of the beholder. :P
SOUND
Now this is what really stands out. Every game has a soundtrack but Luftrausers is a shiny example for how great and important good music is for a game. Every bodypart has its own "OST". I´d say industrial meets 8-Bit... I totally love it =)
For 9€ it´s hard not to recommend this game but after playing it for 8 hours only highscore hunting is left (maybe achievement hunting, but that´s not for me) I hope there´ll be updates with more equipment parts to play around with or maybe new enemies. For those who beat the normal mode AND defeated an enormous aircraft called "BLIMP" you get access to a new mode called "SFMT".. Even satan cries in his bedchamber after he played ten minutes in this mode xD
Just one great negative: No online content and no leaderboard =( Would there have been a leaderboard I´d greatly score Luftrausers over 9.0...

Gamemoir's Ana likes to de-stress with LUFTRAUSERS because it makes her feel clever.
GG3 writes: "Black Friday promotions online are as brutal as in real life, so it’s hard to pick out where exactly the lowest prices are. Select Steam keys on Games Republic are currently lower than anywhere else, certainly as the store handles region-free pricing that stays fair to Europeans. So, here are the best ones to pick up."
EB's Owen Hibbert writes, "Last months Mousecraft Indiebox was somewhat lackluster since it only contained a very minimal amount of loot. In the box was of course the game and soundtrack and instruction manual, but also a thin magnetic business card and a poster. Personally I felt a lot more effort could have been put in overall, but the September box for Luftrausers has proved a massive hit with me and certainly redeemed the last box and I am sure I was not alone with how I felt."
I like the idea of this and no doubt there is some great and unique items for you collectors, but pound for dollar the humble bundles just smash anything they can put in a box as far as I'm concerned. Most of the content seems like stuff I would find in either a kinder egg.
Actually why is there not a Geek egg? A chocolate egg with some random videogame/comic/film/tv thing inside? Holy shit! Im off to trademark this shit and pitch it to Trump or Alan Sugar. Im thinking......
