No Grand Theft Auto V planned for 2010

Nick from PS3Center writes:

But what about Grand Theft Auto V? Rumors have popped up lately, indicating a new GTA would hit sometime in 2010. Take-Two was very tight lipped on the matter, despite being pressed hard about it during the Q&A session following the conference call.

I thought this was pretty predictable... Looks like they are pretty content just doing DLC updates for the next year, especially now that they are working on Agent too.

shadowfox5420d ago

some interesting wording going on there... what they say is "year that won't have a MULTIPLATFORM release of a new GTA".

Will GTA5 be going PS3 or 360 timed exclusive...? Pandoras box > opened!

FrankFoxJaegar5420d ago

really, really hope agent is coming out soon.

G3TDOWN5420d ago

This game comes in 2 discs for Xbox 360

so that way all gamers can enjoy the game

At least that's better than nothing for 360 fans because GTA IV pushed the DVD limit

UnSelf5420d ago (Edited 5420d ago )

man i really pray they are working on a GTA PS3 exclusive.

(sigh) The possibilities, lets speculate why dont we:

1. New blu ray disk allows the virtual modern equal to the size of what San Andreas was on the ps2 now transitioned to the ps3.

2. An entire alternate campaign delegated to just co-op play.

3. Over 500 cars available and every type of vehicle every seen

4. Over 100 weapons to choose from to get the mission done.

5. An entirely different co-op mode that allows you to assist other PSN members in their campaign and once you enter their world you can start YOUR OWN campaign from scratch alongside theirs.

6. Abandoned Dogs, snow, and highways spanning thousands of virtual feet, now litter the game.

7. Continental aircraft, harrier military f-14's, and off coast battleships surround every surface.

8. The backstory of the new character is an ex military operative discharged from the Army. He was overseas or fought in Desert Storm.

9. 50 hr campaign

10. (inhales) Land mines, flamethrowers, satchel charges, combat knives, dynamic CQC system, Army choppers, most buildings can be entered, water towers can be exploded, buildings can collapse and be rebuilt over time, 4d, tunnels being built, bridges also, character can age, choose between a man or woman lead

11. Clothes now get ripped in battle

12. A more intuitive police system

13. No more health packs, becuz of ur military background you now have to heal yourself depending on where the wound is. Heal leg, to walk if not you'll limp. Heal arm to shoot and grab things, climb etc, if not he'll hold it. However there is limb specific kevlar to stop these things from happening often.

14. You established your own military freedom fighter clan, to help you with missions and such, you can summon at any time unless, one died in battle or is wounded, etc

15.Cops dont simply give up after a chase, you increase your most wanted list and if you hit the top level they will be a statewide alert for your capture, until you inevitably change your ID. Cost: 5,000

16. in addition to weapons and armor you now have advanced utilities and prototypes. Zip lines, parachutes, flares, chaff, flashbangs, rocketpack, lock picks, night vision, wire traps.

17. Instead of property you now buy warehouses that store all your weaponry, gadgets. You also can purchase or achieve a S.H.E.I.L.D like airbase that you can access only through flight.

18. All cars and vehicles now have a gas fuelage amount. You also have to refuel your jet and choppers time to time.

19. The plot of the campaign is you've been discharge from Iraq and you are now trying to reassemble your own military faction to return and finish the job.

20. This is not a rags to riches story. all the money and property you earn are essential to your mission.

@Bubbles

dream on dude. The ps3 software is selling like 50% what the 360 does. Also rockstar will look into the wii and see if they can make some more money there.

You think just because devs can fill up the gigs on the bluray that they will do it with real content. I thought GTA3 was better than SA just because it was more compact. In SA you had allot of roads but empty as hell and boring not to forget.

Why everybody talking about agent so much?

We only saw the logo of the game.......... let's wait for some gameplay shall we? :)

kiss for all the angry ps3 fanboys on n4g.

DaTruth5420d ago (Edited 5420d ago )

Nothing is more annoying, than the trolls who insist they hate PS3 fanboys and then direct all of their comments toward the very people they supposedly hate so much.

I personally don't engage in conversation with people I hate; In fact, I do my best to stay away from them.

Bnet3435420d ago

They are busy with GTA IV DLC and The Agent.

Tony999Montana5420d ago

@pppppeach

Who is a fanboy? You just invented factual information to try and win an argument against PS3. GTA has sold 5.67 million on PS3 and 7.13 million on 360. Hardly half the amount and taking into account the fact that 360 has exclusive DLC as a selling point and a wider user base, it seems that 360 isn't such a great investment for rockstar afterall. Plus lets not forget that GTA sold more on PS3 by far in every region except for the 360 loving USA.

Does it really annoy you that much that people are talking about Agent. It's an intriguing game and should be treated the same way as any potential hit; be it in movies, games or music. Hype is only natural. If anything your comment on the matter shows your insecurities of your purchase. I for one am happy to be able to play games on 360 and PS3 ( I sold my wii, when nothing came out for a while)

i just hope that DLC comes to the PS3 at some point. I'm jonesing for some more GTA.

Bnet3435420d ago

Don't get your hopes up, Microsoft paid for it.

poindat5420d ago

No, if I recall they only paid for the 2 episodic packs. Anything that comes after is likely going to be on the PS3 as well as the 360.

ghostface5420d ago

Just finish GTA4, and I must say, It was quit fun. hope for some ps3 DLC.

gauntletpython5420d ago

I think at this point, HipHop Gamer is more accurate than Patcher.

Gamer_Politics5420d ago

i'm waiting for that GTA;ep's from liberty city disc....

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing6923d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

Profchaos23d ago

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Demetrius22d ago

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy8522d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

Demetrius22d ago

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
