'End of Day' thought - Will the next Fatal Frame get localized?

Go Nintendo: "I don't know about you, but I think the new Fatal Frame game looks pretty fantastic. Just a couple hours back, we saw the reveal of Fatal Frame: Nuregarasu no Miko, which will be a Wii U exclusive. I've always been a fan of the Fatal Frame series, but this installment really looks like something special! Quite eager to learn more about just what's going on with it."

Who really knows, when it comes to these japanese publishers they're known for making retarded decisions when it comes to localizing games.

MrSwankSinatra3570d ago (Edited 3570d ago )

An what does that matter? Nintendo published fatal frame iv and it never got localized, nintendo published the remake for fatal frame II and that only got localized in europe. Do i really need to bring up the countless other games that nintendo has published and never got localized?

sinncross3570d ago

Nintendo would want the WiiU to keep improving sales in the West and there is a hollywood Fatal Frame moving being made.

Of course the game is getting localised. This is not a situation where Nintendo could not possibly localise it.

Who can say? But they really should.

I don't know if it is always Japanese developers decisions.

I think Regional Nintendo Reps. make the call for what games are released in any given area.

For example-
The reason "Disaster: Day of Crisis" was released to the U.S. was because Reggie judged the game inferior.
-It was Reggie's decision.

I think the same was true of other games, they where behind on how much traditionally Western market had embraced traditionally Eastern gameplay.

I am sure the same thing happens in other Regions as well.

Uh since 2011 Nintendo has been localizing games more often. This why Treehouse exists.

Nintendo published the last few Fatal Frame games so it's them who decide whether the games get localized or not. I can see why Nintendo might be reluctant to bring it over here because the series hasn't had particularly high sales in the West. But I think if this game gets a decent marketing strategy and some hype behind it, then it has the potential to do really well.

It came out in Europe so did fatal frame 2 for wii as did all the project rainfall games, it's why they all have British casts in the english dub.

I think it'll at least get a european/Aus release because NOE have a brilliant track record over recent years of bringing the best games from japan over to europe.

I think it will get a reelase but it's probably at least six months away maybe more, although this would be the perfect game to release around halloween.

I mean that was sort of obvious.
There was literally nothing on this franchise, then they ported Maiden of Black Water likely because it was the easier one to translate to modern devices being a Wii U title and all. And now we are getting a remaster of the 4th title. So it stands to reason that Maiden of Black Water was successful enough to start the whole process.

A remaster of the Fatal Frame 2 remake that was on Wii would be very welcome as well. That game is great. Scared the crap out of me the first time I played it as well lol.
