Hardcore Gamer: Mega Man is dying with every passing month. Even compared to the scatterbrained Resident Evil, Mega Man is in a colossal danger zone.
Mighty No. 9 and Mega Man 11 are two games that tried to fill a very big gaming hole, and the story behind it all is even more interesting. So which game wore the Mega Man dress better? Jason Capp is here with some retrospective thoughts upon his 2022 playthroughs.
Only tried the demos for both and mighty 9 looked atrocious. Megaman 11 was fun and polished. Never played both full versions but will see it they are on PS Extra when i get home.
Mostly get my megaman fix playing the azure gunvolt games and spin offs. And Maverick Hunter X on my Vita.
If you're a Mega Man fan, you might remember the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3 in 2011. While fans were encouraged to show their support for a new entry even after the project had been axed, it's now 2020 and nothing seems to have come of it.
Now, out of the blue, the Mega Man Legends composer Makoto Tomozawa has asked fans on Twitter if they would be up for crowdfunding Mega Man Legends 3.
I'm down for a crowd funding campaign and if this works, hopefully Capcom will open up a crowd funding campaign for Dino Crisis next.
At this point a fan done remake of either of the first two done in UE4,5 or Unity would likely have more to show before a C&D - and Capcom still wouldn't have done anything towards other than the C&D!
Sony should back this up like they did with Shenmue 3. The series started on Playstation and it should end on Playstation.
Kickstarter has allowed game developers all over the world to bring their respective visions to life, while AAA Studios remains out of touch.
This is very true. Companies like EA, UBI, MS seem to be disconnected from what fans want.
Um I’m not too sure about that check how well those games sold besides the money they got from Kickstarter they didn’t sell nearly as much as most games from publishers (AAA or not).
The unfortunate reality is these days games like Shenmue 3 and Bloodstained are incredibly niche and the only way it could survive is by use of a fan funded website like Kickstarter.
What a shame -- this is one of gaming's icons for christ's sake.
Don't forget their greed. A lot of this has to do just as much with greed.
Honestly their IP's would do better without Capcom. I'd rather see Nintendo get the Megaman IP from them like I would like to see Sony get the Resident Evil IP.
The IP's are either wasted or ruined.
The gaming industry sure does like the words "Kill, Killing, Killed, and dead."
Out of all my favorites franchises, Capcom owns three, and one of them is MegaMan X.
Capcom killed Resident Evil, Breath of Fire, MegaMan X. Since 2008, I promised to myself that Capcom would NEVER see a dollar from my wallet again, and so I did.
To me, Capcom could be purchased by Microsoft, 'cause being purchased by Microsoft is worse than going bankrupt.
Capcom is dead. It just need a grave.
