With Titanfall just around the corner, the members of Gamer Horizon crew each list off their Top 5 Science Fiction games.
Video games are no longer just a simple past time. Today's games are evolving into true works of art. Offering intriguing narratives, cinematic setpieces, and profound messages, games can entertain us for hundreds of hours.
I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now
While gamers usually take notice of the mainline missions, these 5 side quests deserve more widespread attention for how entertaining they are.
Jack writes: "Yet again browsing the latest offers in the Steam Spring Sale has led us to track down the very best. In terms of price to quality, we don’t think that it gets much better than this. Portal 2 is now less than a dollar, and if you haven’t got it already, now is the time to pick it up."
Portal deserves to be one of steams highest rated games... It's almost tetris levels of perfect game design.
Gotta love Steam. Just got Portal 2 for .97 cents CAD. Should have been $1.29, selected the bundle with Portal 1 and 2, which gets a 25% discount, already have Portal 1, so it removes the cost of that, and still applies the full 25% bundle discount to Portal 2. 90% + 25% discount.
1. Mass Effect Trilogy
2. Deus Ex
3. Super Metroid
4. Portal 1/2
5. Dead Space trilogy
Im sure if I played System Shock 2 that would be up there too
I actually whole-heartedly agree with the picks in the Article. That's gotta be a first.
I'm glad Super Metroid made it. Think they should've double-dipped and added Metroid Prime to the list as well. Also wouldn't mind a nod to Dead Space. It's sci-fi as much as survival horror. Some of the Final Fantasies could also qualify. Or some of the Wing Commander or Rogue Squadron games.
Super Metroid was an epic game, specially for his 16-bit era....his atmosphere, his music, the gameplay. Its a pity that the last 2D Metroid was Metroid Fusion, I would love to see another one, or a Super Metroid remake for 3DS!!!
Deus Ex, Borderlands, Mass Effect, the first Dead Space (the rest blows)
