Gary Green said: We’re finding ourselves in a similar position with the Pixel Remaster edition of Final Fantasy IV as we were with Final Fantasy III since, once again, we’ve received a slightly upscaled, more vibrant port of the original game when there’s already an expanded 3D remake available. As such, we’re playing a game which, even after its long-awaited release, still lives very much in the shadow of its remake.
If only they didn't screw ps4 owners over with a physical release. I'd have ran through this in a heartbeat.
The first one I played, it was the one that made me fall in love with JRPGs and is still my favorite to this day. A masterpiece
The Nerd Stash: "The Wasteland is unforgiving, and there are a ton of brutal ways to die in the Fallout universe. We listed out the absolutely worst ones."
Microsoft just posted the third quarter of its 2024 fiscal financial results. The software maker made $61.9 billion in revenue and a net income of $21.9 billion during Q3. Revenue is up 17 percent, and net income has increased by 20 percent.
Xbox content + services up 62% while hardware down 31%... seems about right with the way they tout you don't need the hardware to play. People can play on their phones or smart tv or other means. I don't hardly play on my consoles directly since getting devices like the logitech g-cloud and ps portal. Which is to also say I have been playing more digital than physical because of these devices.
Too expensive hardware when others offer the same or more for less? Good work, Green Team.
"Despite some early successes for Xbox games on rival platforms, Xbox hardware is down by a massive 31 percent this quarter."
"Without Activision Blizzard, Microsoft’s overall gaming revenue would have actually declined this quarter."
"Xbox content and services would have only been up a single percent without Activision Blizzard..."
"It looks like next quarter is going to be a similar story for gaming at Microsoft, too."
That is crazy... so A/B/K is carrying the whole Xbox gaming.
Oh and Microsoft will be fine. Windows, Office and Cloud are growing with each pc purchase.
I just hope they understand the needs of gamers in a digital world:
1) Make digital titles accessible if/when your service discontinues.
2) Stop charging ownership prices for games that are rentals in disguise.
3) If my fingers bleed for 5 hours doing labor, I expect the purchase to represent the value I paid for!
4) I dream that digital software will be released of DRM if/when the service that governs it ever goes down. There is no reason an honest consumer ever be affected by antipiracy measures.
5)I dream that those who argue against digital haters realize that they pay ownership prices for rental conditions for video games by supporting digital formats in their current state. Their service is an illusion by making consumers believe they own digital software.
6) I DEMAND JUSTICE! How can one think that any company can reliably service your account forever? If one were to think about a companies' history in the gaming industry they would realize that many gaming companies have gone under throughout the console industry. Think Atari, Panasonic, NEC, and Sega. If these companies serviced your accounts then today your games would be lost! Why? These games are accessible only through the companies' services (paid or not).
