5 Games with stories that are total rip-offs

Like with most works of pop-culture; a video game will have a story that borrows elements from one work as a tribute to its influence or acknowledge that its a modern retelling of a classic story. Than you have games that pretty much rip-off another work and try to pass it off as their own original content. Here are 5 games with stories that ripped off other great works.

All these games listed here and the evidence to me didn't seem like a rip-off at all. Seemed like there is just as many differences as their are similiarities to be labeled as such.

WTF.

Black ops 2 similar to MGS4??????

Far Cry 3 similar to Avatar???????

MGS4 and Black Ops 2 have visual similarites (the big drones/robots/mechas and PMCs for the most part) and the storyline is about stopping an AI server that controls almost everything electronic.

It is quite similar if you think about it but of course Metal Gear Solid 4 plot is alot deeper than Black Ops 2.

But i dont consider it a ripoff many movies/books/games already done storylines based on those principles.

I realised back in halo 3 that the series borrows heavily from the bible (Flood, Arc, Reclamer, etc). Call of duty's were nearly always ripping over a popular war film: CoD = Band of Brothers, CoD2 = Enemy at the gates. I'm not sure of the exact circumstances, but I believe Spielberg was involved in MoH Allied Assault, which would explain why it nearly perfectly follows the story of Saving Private Ryan.

Idk man, I don't see a parasite alien and a flood from the bible having that much in common other than killing a lot of people, which could really be anything.

The arc while similar in name, really aren't anything alike. The arc in halo was just a control station to activate the halo rings (and kill all living forms). The arc from the bible was to preserve life while the rest of the world was killed from a flood. I mean there are some similiarities here, but there just not identical enough to be called rip-offs, imo.

CoD WaW had more in common with the film "Enemies at the Gates" in my opinion.

Call of Duty games always had alot of influence from good action/war movies and that´s also a big reason why ive became more interested into those games.

Ever heard the expression; "there is nothing new under the sun" ?

Lol, those are some strange comparison. Not the ones I would've thought of, that's for sure.

I'm pretty sure that Far Cry 3 is most similar to the movie The Beach, lmao not Avatar... WTF

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
