Reasons why RockStar should worry about Watch Dogs

PS4Home: "To be honest, Watch Dogs seems to be a truly “first of its kind” – type game, something of an evolved GTA."

i can name 1

GTA is a proven franchise with a large install base where the developers do not seat on their laurels and always innovating in all aspects of the game and watch_dogs is a new franchise that is still unproven

is GTA really a formula game that needs a bunch of changing though? This goes without saying the plenty of changes already made in GTA 5, but how often is it that we get a GTA game? Every 5-6 years.

I get the whole Watch_Dogs to GTA comparison thing, but TBH I just don't really see it all so much. GTA 4 was bar far the most serious and darkest GTA, but I've always felt GTA was about the silly things you can do and wackyness. To me, Watch_dogs isn't trying to be GTA or even a Better version of it. If anything, I would almost compare it to Assassins Creed, because it's Ubisoft and they are pretty mcuh giving off the same vibe as it.

@ nitro

my comment was in favour of gta and i do agree that most gamers compare any open world game where you have the freedom to do almost anything a gta clone of some sort.

Already bored of GTA V, bring on Watchdogs.

GarrusVakarian3838d ago (Edited 3838d ago )

The amount of content/things to do on GTA5/GTAO and you are already bored of it? Man, normal games must last you minutes, lol.

@HolyDuck

Do you play MP with friends? Its a completely different experience then, there is plenty to do.....

HolyDuck3838d ago

I have every achievement in single player and well... Multiplayer just sucks, they need to add stuff soon.

DestinyHeroDoomlord3838d ago

I actually find it very easy to grow bored of open world games...

Rockstar has no reason to be worried about watchdogs. First of all, outside of bring open world, they have little in common.

Secondly, rockstar is always very innovative, and always pushing forward. They are always one step ahead of the game, and never gets comfortable. It would be tough for Ubisoft to catch up in any sense.

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing693d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy853d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
