Killer Is Dead Review - Eskimo Press

Having played some of their previous titles such as Killer 7 and the more recent Shadows of the Damned, as well as being familiar with the premise, style, and attitude of No More Heroes, I kind of knew that this was going to be something... And Killer is Dead sure is something. Whether that something is to your liking depends on whether you are up to the task of taking out demonic trash in this tripped out cel-shaded hack 'n' slash fest.

Just picked this up, havent tried it yet. Looks different and world looks completely bizarre. All launch editions right now come with a very cool 80 page hardback artbook, soundtrack and dlc. All loaded up in a nice size box for $60! Suda did this for all the fans for their support! Cant beat that! Eat that one Naughty Dog!!!

I don't think that knock at Naughty Dog was necessary, in fact that was completely random.

Plus, there are plenty of other games that had limited editions that were at base price.

I agree but very few managed to have a quality artbook with more than 20 pages let alone with a soundtrack included. The Dark Souls artbook was cheap at best and fell apart less than a month after release.....

Not really man. Everyone praising Naughty Dog for the Last of Us and how its such an amazing game, etc. I felt jipped with that game. So much that it went up on ebay. Im just making an observation here that i felt like i got more for my moneys worth.

While a game like this will get no praise for its different style and all its extra bonus stuff! Thats ashame too. On episode 3 here and have to say im enjoying it immensely! More so than the Last of Us. Sorry that hurts, but its the truth. Need more creative games like this and less Uncharted games! Artbook is very nice and soundtrack rocks!!!

Picking it up tomorrow's release date ( 29th ) here in Oz.

Fan Edition is the only version available.

Don't expect any ads in print media/posters in front of store or TV spots.

I highly recommend this game, its an excellent hack and slash with beautiful art style and zany characters! Upgrades and all, having a great time with this game. I picked up the U.S launch edition and the artbook is very well made! Very satisfied! This game needs more exposure!!!

Peerless?

I’ve always heard his games have repetitive portions. I appreciate unique and creative games, but repetition dilutes even the greatest games (ie Arkham Asylum).

Shadows of the damned was pretty wild. That and lollipop chainsaw are the only ones ive played but I’d give it to SoTD.

Yui_Suzumiya648d ago

Shadows of the Damned and Lollipop Chainsaw are my favorites

He should. Although I'd like to see something new from him. Or how about Shadows of the Damned 2?

Abriael1433d ago

Well, he is making No More Heroes 3.
